CSX In Poinciana, FL With CSX 1972 Family Lines Heritage Unit

Having heard that 1972 was gonna leave with the empties today, I at first drove to Kissimmee to catch it, but then I went to Poinciana to get some horn action. And boy it was good for Poinciana. E040-21, the train with 1972, was held here to let M457-21 pass by, and it had a YN2 leader. This was my 2nd time seeing 1972 as the rear DPU, also my 2nd time seeing a CSX HU in daylight hours and my first time seeing a CSX E train! Aweosme catch & shot! If you don't mind me asking what time did M457 pass through? I am trying to catch some freight on the CFRC when I vist Florida this summer.

@@09JDCTrainMansorry to bother, but I just wanted to clarify some things about CSX on the CFRC if you don't mind. So M457 runs every day and usually passes Poinciana (entering CFRC from the south end) anytime in the morning till like early afternoon (8AM-1PM)? Are there any other locals that run in daylight on the CFRC? I heard there is a L717? I think that come out of Sanford Rands Yard & goes north passed debary to go to Seville & Deland? The coal trains are as needed, but have tou noticed any days that are one is more likely to catch a coal train? Please correct me if I am wrong on any of this & thanks in advance

@ZachTheRailfannerYT Yeah, that's when M457 usually shows up on the CFRC. Yeah, you're right about L717. There's also L721 and L722, Taft Day Switchers. Not too sure about the rest though.

This summer I’m probably planning to go Railfan the CFRC corridor to see some CSX trains and are there any good spots there to catch CSX?

I think Poinciana is the best spot on the CFRC to catch CSX since it's not a quiet zone and they go by at a decent speed.

@@09JDCTrainMan okay and I thought the Kissimmee station and the meadow woods station are great spots to catch CSX because those are south of Taft yard

@Trainandrocketlover Those are good spots, too. I have caught CSX in Kissimmee before. It's just that I prefer Poinciana since I enjoy hearing the horn.

@Trainandrocketlover Coal trains too, (C040, C041 and C042). Yeah, locals go by there too. L765 (rock loads from Winston to Taft), L724 (Taft to Poinciana). Both usually run at night though. The coal trains vary.
