CSX on Amtrak Sunset Limited (4K)

Күн бұрынHere's a video of CSX 5006 on Amtrak Sunset Limited train #1 arriving into Los Angeles Union Station on 2/24/17. I have seen a freight leader on Amtrak before but this is the first time seeing CSX on point into Los Angeles Union Station.

An AC6000CW leading an Amtrak train. It's been downgraded to roughly 4,300 hp so it's almost like using an AC4400CW.

Like I said, CSX downgraded most of them to 4,300 after some time. Only a few remain actually 6,000 hp. They are still classified as CW60AC but are 4,300 hp.

Maybe because of the EPA (the 6000's were not exactly the cleanest of locos) and no longer needing such power.

So why are they using a CSX loco for this train into LA? Aren't they not allowed to bring CSX locos here (CSX cars, I can understand) but locos?
