Wish they had maintained the same luggage pass-through from the CTB35 on this. It had better functionality and kept the backpack straps neatly tucked in behind the handle of your roller bag.

Disagree on the capacity of the bag compared to the GR2. I have both and the CTB26 definitely holds more, same holds true for the CTB35 vs the GR240L. I've traveled with both many times and the CTB3 holds more, packs better, and is more comfortable. That front pocket on the GR2 bags becomes really virtually useless when the main compartment is packed full, it takes up more space from the overall space than the additional pockets add.
@JBOutside1
@JBOutside1 Жыл бұрын
That’s fair. I normally pack that main compartment on the GR2 very full and tight. Then live out of the front. I only store an iPad in the slash pocket. Thanks for the great point!!
@MH_6160
@MH_6160 Жыл бұрын
Facts, that front pocket on the GoRuck is literally useless other than paperwork if you are packed out.
@chrisholland8226
@chrisholland8226 Жыл бұрын
@@MH_6160 I wasn’t actually referring to the slant pocket on the very front. I mean the first section of the clamshell on the GR2’s. For travel, I find it just takes up space and provides limited, unnecessary organization. When you pack the main clamshell opening full, you can actually fit very little in the front clamshell area. One large cavernous clamshell area is much better for that usage.
@pgsanta
@pgsanta Жыл бұрын
Weird, I have both, and find the opposite to be true. The GR2 holds more. Period. I pack the bags with camera cubes, and the GR2 simply holds more.
@pgsanta
@pgsanta Жыл бұрын
@@chrisholland8226 Well, yes I imagine the CTB 35 holds more. 26 vs 26 the GR2 is better able to handle two large camera cubes + items in the secondary section vs the CTB 26. I don’t haul clothes or soft items in these bags, maybe that’s where the single section shines.

I actually rucked with the Pheonix 2! I did about 35# total weight. It did well, I just preferred having wider straps for rucking. My only issue with the bag is really that the bag narrows in the main compartment as it goes from top to bottom. I used it as a personal bag on a recent trip and I couldn't pack my stuff well because of the narrowing (trying to pack size 12 hikers). Thanks for the review though! I was wondering what you thought about it's rucking potential. Lol

Killer review, thanks for putting it up! A couple questions if I may. 1) For the water bottle pockets, with a 32oz. Nalgene, does it push in on the main compartments space/capacity or do they grow/expand outward? 2) Killer sunglasses! What are they? Thanks!!!

So the bottle pockets are elastic so they expand. They don’t technically impede the internal volume but bigger bottles definitely push a little more on the internal cavity. The sunglasses are from Blender

So I want to buy a backpack for short trips, let's say for me 24-30L is fine for anything up to 4/5days. There are many possibilities and I'm wondering what to choose. I think about Evergoods CPL both 28 and 24 v3; Able Carry Max, Bellroy transit backpack and now also Evergoods CTB 26. Any advice from a more experienced group? How does CPL v3 compare to the new CTB in terms of feeling and capacity? PS I do watch all the reviews, great job!

Great video JB! Been waiting for yours to pull the trigger or not. Question for you is about the straps. I’ve mostly had GR bags and they always fit great.
