The notwithstanding clause was a huge mistake for the government to even put that in. It needs to be removed and never ever put in again. Because that gives any government, the power to override our own rights and freedoms. So therefore, it makes the charter ofwrite moot.

It gets used, because overall Conservatives on a case by case basis are predominantly anti-choice. So while leadership may say they won’t, it is not off the table from the party. There are lists of which MP’s and MPP’s who are for or against choice on the record. It’s a lot of Conservatives.
