Quick demonstration on the Cub Cadet CSV 0 5 0. It does a great job and I would recommend buying this is a lawn / leaf vacuum comparable to the billy goat vacuum

I had one of these, it worked good...but I found it easier to just blow my leaves into my neighbor's yard.

For those who are considering buying this: I bought this exact one a few days ago and used it for the first time tonight. It started on literally the "first" pull. The owner's manual says do "NOT" use E15 gas; E10 is ok but don't use E15. Gas should also have an octane rating of at least 87. It worked like a CHAMP on grass clippings, small sticks, dirt, sand, small rocks on my driveway and in the street gutter, which is primarily what I bought it for. I vacuumed about 200' linear feet in about 7 minutes (?) and I was probably going much slower than I really needed. As long as the engine starts easily in the future I am going to L-O-V-E this thing!

nice review. read all the comments.. Picked up mine used on Offerup for 40.00... back wheels needed changing and I happened to have a set of big wheels that I popped right on. This thing runs strong, and picks up leaves well, chips/shreds branches solidly. I see some dust and Bag quite frankly wasn't that difficult to empty. Hell for 40. bucks I'm happy as Shiggity...

I just acquired the Craftsman branded one. That bag isn't that bad to empty. It beats raking leaves by hand.

I have one of these. It’s a great machine but it needs a bigger bag because I usually suck up huge piles of leaves with it. It takes like 40 seconds for it to get full

Is this the 6.5 HP model ? Since you have an oak tree you should have said something about it's ability to pick up acorns. Any lawn vacuum should be able to pick up leaves. I doubt any company could stay in business, if their lawn vacuum did not pick up leaves.

I understand these things are designed for leaves, acorns, or sticks, but does the front vacuum head have enough suction in the lowest position to pick up things like small rocks, bits of asphalt, or mulch chips up off the grass? This kind of stuff has a lot more mass and run of the mill 12A impeller vacuums don't have enough power to pull them off the ground.

I'm having a problem starting mine. I heard a loud "pop" when I tried starting it up, then it wouldn't start. Do you think it could be a spark plug? If so, where would I find it? Any other thoughts or ideas? It has enough gas and fresh gas was put in last week. Thanks!

The vacuum is Handy if you have a lot of leaves of land on a sidewalk. My neighbor has some pine trees on his property that has a retaining wall and on the needles phone to the sidewalk below that retaining wall.

@matthewb7049 6 жыл бұрын
kjbenner they need one with a 190cc engine. I don't care for auto propelled it only sucks power from the vacuum. I was looking at this same model and it's pretty much 800$ now I'd be more comfortable with that price if it had the 190cc motor on it.
@wildbill23c
@wildbill23c 5 жыл бұрын
Same machine the CSV-070 is self propelled, the CSV-050 you push it yourself, but I think the self-propelled model is only self-propelled in the forward position, no reverse and for the ridiculous price increase I'd rather push it LOL.

The bag is a major pain in the ass to empty. I guess when you're just bagging that tiny amount on your lawn there it's not bad. But come to Michigan when you have a full bag and try. It's a crappy design. The bag is bulky and a pain to attach or detach and a nightmare to empty. I have used it for 3 years. The vacuum is great but the bag is terrible.

The machine can't compete with a hand rake and leaf blower. The machine is far more trouble than it is worth and the amount of energy you have to exert to run it is far beyond simple raking and bagging
@rickguarcini2407
@rickguarcini2407 4 жыл бұрын
a grizzly bear to run, a dust storm while its running, a bear to start, way to much pull on the cord needed. will not pick up everything on the law, mainly leaves, the front end catches on the slightest uneven ground, the holding bag is horrible to empty. Over all the worst investment you can make in a lawn vac at almost $600.00. Also if you don't block the shredder inlet on to the machine it loses vacuum pressure. Terrible, terrible, terrible, a total waste of money and you had better be in good physical shape to run it
