Just bought this mower yesterday. Very pleased with it's performance so far. Your video shows that the mower will last if properly maintained which is nice to know at this point.

Over 90 hrs. of hard use. Not one problem. Great mower!

Thank you for sharing. I rewound the video because I thought I heard you say you cut grass as tall has 6-feet? I knew our Cub Cadet [same model purchased in 2017] was a beast with power and could tackle jobs greater than our lawn ~ 1 acre, but your review and few other's reviews of their Cub Cadet XT1 LT46 definitely gave me confidence for our Cub Cadet. I cut the county easement outside of our fence and sometimes I mow the whole strip between our fence and the fencing surrounding the runoff pond. Wow!

The grass was dry. This was a small field. Had to mow it slow.

I have seen people never change the oil or filter. Leave them out in the weather and then complain about the mower falling apart. You haft too take care of them don't care what the name brand is cub cadet is a great mower

I've never had engine issues with mine. I have had to change some belts and weld the deck brackets from hitting to many obstacles. Mowing in a hurry - My fault.

When you start it only depress the brake pedal! If you depress the right pedal while starting you put the the transmission in gear and your drive belt will wear out quicker! Also it puts more strain on the engine at start up! Another tip: When using the deck wash out lower the deck all the way down!

Do it on driveway if possible. Works better than on grass surface.
@CapeAnnImages3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesharry6479 It makes a mess of the driveway. Over grass you add nutrients and it blends in.

Looks like the same deck and engine I have on my ZT1 42 with 13hrs, hope mines hold up as good as yours.

Interesting... I see your (older) unit uses the star-style blades, not their new proprietary 'S' shaft.

mine after 5 years is shot.. tensioner pully bolt came off and noticed it was rusted out 1/2 way around the blade pulley.. time for a new deck or mower.

6 Year review, my XT1 had a needle valve failure last year which hydrolocked my engine and filled my crankcase with gas. Additionally I've replaced the starter now twice. The engine is now refusing to turnover past 180° rotation before it hits the compression cycle. It will rotate manually but it's not starting. The mower really isn't that great. ***The first thing any owner needs to do is to add a fuel petcock when the engine is off incase the needle valve gets stuck open like mine. Overally, the mower has been really disappointing. I cut once or twice a month. The nearest dealer said they wouldn't put any money into it but they'd be happy to scrap it for me toward a new mower.

I have had mine 3 years and it’s broken down 4 times. It’s in shop now because of the ignition system. I will never own another Cub Cadet. My Husqvarna is 12 years old and other than a spindle on the deck going bad I have never had any other problems

Okay... At 9:35 when you start it, you get a whine. Mine occasionally does that too. What's happening when we hear that?
@waylonmccrae35464 жыл бұрын
That is amps feeding thru the solenoid .... usually the sign of a weak battery !! Won't hurt anything as long as you don't lay hard on the key in start position ... if it doesn't want to turn over and strains , it is one of three things - weak battery - weak or dirty starter - or the exhaust valve needs adjusting , tightening up etc . 😎

Probably a squirrel that built a nest at the wrong place. All Cub Cadet tractors are equipped with the Shock-A-Squirrel-Boom-Roasted feature.

What the stuff you put in the tires
@cheaperthandirtvideos111 ай бұрын
It was a white glue similar to Elmers glue. The tire shop put it in the tires.

I use a kubota l3800 lift,strap it to the forks and there you go. Oh yeah wanted to mention, that was the lousiest weed whack job I have ever seen. You've been using this for 5 years and hit the forward pedal too when you start up? Who does that? What is that some kind of crank and go trick? If it ain't sum dumb it's gotta be plum dumb. Sorry can only comment on what I see. The rest was pretty much half wit obvious, just saying.

Blackberrys gave you a flat tire? That tells me enough to know what mower to stay away from. I have to replace a ACTUAL Cub Cadet that's 26 years old but I guarantee it damn well won't be with a new cub.

Same tires on many other mowers.

Look up Himalayan Blackberries, and their reputation in the PNW, USA (and elsewhere). You'll find that the blackberries are the extraordinary factor, not the tractor tires. Himalayan Blackberries are like nature's (invasive) barbed wire; and they spread like something from a bio-horror movie. OTOH, If you didn't mind the 'Disney Villain' aesthetic, they make great 'hedgerows'.
