I’ve been playing with this all evening too, and it’s nice to see some bug fixes and updates. Unfortunately Inter-App Audio plug-in handling seems horribly busted on mine. Freezes, crashes, corrupted projects or super long load times. I’m commenting before watching all of tonight’s video, so it might come up!

Nice updates mean they haven't abandoned Cubasis 3 and iPad yet! So happy to see drag and drop files added finally can get midi files into Cubasis 3

Switching between Tablet and Tablet XL (U I) gives loads more real estate on screen if needed. Nice one!

It's impossible, i am sorry to say. Beatmaker 3 is deep. It's lightyears from all ios DAW's. I just dont like that MPC ui and Cubasis is made with love. I promise you Cubasis 3 will need years to get there, it's not just about a sampler, the entire App is complete, the sampler can compete with any desktop Daw.

i really wish they would add in scale highlighting and maybe something similar to ghost notes. There are some cool new features but I still use Helium or Piano roll 2 to write if I'm not playing it in or using samples. I think the easier it is for beginners the more growing potential ios production has. The main draw now is portability and how cheap the au's are compared to vst's. I think cubasis is for sure the top ios daw though. I use only Cubasis and koala on android as well for sketches.

Great video. Can you midi sync the time clock with external hardware without 3rd party apps ? I would upgrade from 2 just for that . Its really hard to find info on this subject. It would help many people if you made a video on it . Thank you.

does the 3.5 update include a multiple tempo change function? thats what im waiting for a long time! korg gadget2 has that function added already. thanks for another wonderful and informative video!

Sorry for the late reply, no, you can't do tempo changes in Cubasis 3 yet, you can in NanoStudio 2, but you can't record audio in that, Logic Pro is coming to iOS on the 23rd May, you will be able to do it in that.

I get the same problem when i start a new project it doesn't load in properly. even when I long press the icon and do a new project. it does the same. not all the time Just sometimes. also it comes up as missing auv3. even though there are there. it just says can't find auv3 doesn't say which ones

I wish they would get rid of that spinning circle when recording. I like to see the wave file forming as I’m recording. Never understood why they use it like that

It’s processor effort, I think? In real-time, the CPU would have to figure out the mathematics of the waveform, and the GPU interact also in real-time to portray it on the screen. I mean, they could make it an option, as they do presently to use a lower-resolution waveform for audio (after recording of course), but as an ex-IT man, that’s my guess. On the iPad Pro2 I would welcome any method of losing tasks not strictly necessary while live recording. But it’s nice to see, if you have that extra processing power, totally agree.

How have you got five red faders in the mixer section…is that because of the gear you have connected to the iPad

Yes, it’s because it’s connected to a Steinberg 816 C interface, which give a lot of output options

It would be nice if IAA apps didn't still have to be opened outside of Cubasis, and the way this has been handled is terrible. In Cubasis 2, I could record a track with an IAA without having to run the app from outside Cubasis, where I can't even see the track being recorded.

Yes, but you can’t export Cubasis 3 Projects into Cubasis 2

Hey Doug and all … I got an email from Steinberg today saying Cubasis is on sale for 40% off and IAP 50% off. When I go to the App Store Cubasis is $29.99. Isn’t that the normal price?
