Great concept and money value. A sample based synthesizer but with all the flexibility of an analog-style synth. It sounds great, it's easy to learn and manage and it's kind to your CPU. The factory library in itself is more than enough to get endless sounds combinations. But, being hungry for new sounds I'm waiting for further expansions :-D

Thanks Luca! We're so glad you're enjoying CUBE. In addition to sample expansions, we're working on some cool new features, like the ability to drag and drop your own audio onto each corner of the cube, which should open up a lot of new possibilities. We'll also be releasing free preset pack expansions for all CUBE owners every couple months, so stay tuned!

@@lunacyaudio good ole vector morphing x2 in 3d ;-)....cool...I understand like omnisphere in the beginning the desire to have a closed system to sell expansion packs, but yeah you definitely need to open up the sampler to user content...especially at that price point...if its hise based shouldn't be a problem right? What would set it apart and fill a gap in the industry, would be to bundle an FX version that allows you to do vector morphing on audio streams assigned to the corners...you could even scale back to 2d and 4 inputs....i can point you to multiple threads on sites like KVR of customers looking for this...kudos for expanding upon the 30 yr old concept instead of just implementing the standard...but seems like it would be faster and simpler workflow to have a mouse trajectory draw and record function ,...and then a replay recorded trajectory with speed and direction controls

@@jonathansaunders6697 Hi Jonathan! Thanks for such a detailed and insightful reply. We totally agree the user audio is an important component of the plugin, so that's our main priority at the moment. The CUBE FX concept is also something we've considered in depth, but haven't made it our focus quite yet. We'd love to explore that idea at some point in the future as we agree there's a lot of potential there. As for the orbit customization, we're working on another tutorial video just for orbits, which will explain all the different ways you can create and use our orbits system, including built-in per-axis oscillators, tables, and position steppers, as well as the ability to easily automate the orb position in your DAW. You can simply toggle Write Automation in your DAW and drag the orb (or use a special external controller like a Leap Motion hand sensor) to draw the position of the orb in real-time and it will write the path as automation data to the track. Hope this helps!

Hey there! First, make sure CUBE is receiving MIDI input from Bitwig. You may want to try clicking the keyboard keys at the bottom of CUBE's interface to send MIDI input data to CUBE. If that doesn't work, we recommend adjusting your buffer size settings to see if that makes a difference :)

@lunacyaudio
@lunacyaudio 9 ай бұрын
Hey there! Great question. If you import a user sample, CUBE will reference it's absolute file path, so you won't want to move the sample later. For this reason, we added the ability to import samples to a CUBE-specific folder, so CUBE will save that file in a place where it won't be moved.

Were you at all inspired by the very old (nearly 20 years) Virsyn Cube synth vst? They had a similar concept in the early 2000s
@lunacyaudio
@lunacyaudio 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! We were not inspired by the Virsyn Cube synth, though we were generally aware that vector synthesis had been done before. Vector synthesis actually arose as a component of an effort to make a plugin that would be both a utility tool for working composers and producers and also a source of inspiration for all music makers.

Hey guys! Quick question: I'm finding a few presets I really like in CUBE but all of the orbit motions I'm hearing sound excessively subtle and vague, even with intensity at 100%. I'd like for listeners of my productions to know they're definitely hearing motion (and not have to hope/assume that it's kinda/sorta there). Does anyone know of a technique to significantly increase the audible intensity of the orbit motion? (The motion I'm hearing right now in Ableton is extremely weak).
@lunacyaudio
@lunacyaudio Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Are there any presets in particular where you notice this? You can increase the orbit intensity on Orbits page to increase the scale of the orbit pattern and this will make it more obvious. It will also depend on the types of sounds in each corner and how many corners are active.
@wrigna1
@wrigna1 Жыл бұрын
@@lunacyaudio I can't find not one single preset where the orbit motion's intensity is sufficient for what I was hoping for. It almost seems like the orbit motion is just a tease of what CUBE is potentially capable of doing but it's not yet reaching its full potential.

@lunacyaudio Жыл бұрын
Hi Alec! Thanks for reaching out. This is the first we've heard of this issue, so we'd recommend checking if there are any MIDI modifiers on your keyboard device or on the track within your DAW. CUBE is definitely in tune with all other VSTs, so there shouldn't be an issues unless a setting has been tweaked. You may also want to check the settings in CUBE: Under the Engine tab there is a knob labeled "Master Tune" which allows for different Hz tuning for various regions. Apart from that, you may also want to check if you have any Pitch Bend data active, as this could affect CUBE as it would other synths. Let us know if that helps!

Very interesting, I'm wondering about the user sample library and randomisation capability. Can a person search their own personal sample directory through Cube? Or can you load samples into a sample folder in Cube to then randomise between either all samples, stock plugin samples only or user samples only? An answer before the 6th Dec when the sale ends would be greatly appreciated :)
@dreamaera
@dreamaera 2 жыл бұрын
Also will there be updates in the future considering user requests? I'm keen to see some additions like controllable percentage/selection based parameter randomisation options and also modulable panning so I can where in the spatial field these sounds are moving. I really like what you've done so far, just a few things missing which could really benefit the user experience.
@lunacyaudio
@lunacyaudio 2 жыл бұрын
Hi @@dreamaera! Thanks for your interest in CUBE. At the moment, there are a few randomization options for randomizing sounds, orbits, and FX, but we are working on a much deeper randomization panel which will do exactly what you describe and more. People really love the randomization in CUBE, so we definitely want to expand that functionality soon. As for user audio, you can load samples into a user folder for CUBE and then mix and match them with the factory content. There is no randomization for user audio yet, but that will be coming in an update soon. We get a lot of user requests, so we do our best to prioritize the ones which will benefit the largest number of people, so the randomization update is at the top of the list. Hope that helps!

@@lunacyaudio Thanks for the response, good to hear your working on a deeper set of tools :) randomisation really is useful, and having that in conjunction with personal samples will certainly aid the creative process and help build unique creations. I also have one more request which you may have already received, modulable panning for each of the 8 samplers, unsure why panning seems to be left off the mod matrix, unless I'm mistaken. It would be a very useful addition. Please keep up the good work :)

Hi @Xcarnation! Most users are very surprised by how low the CPU usage is for CUBE. One upside of sample-based instruments is that they are traditionally have low CPU footprint. Not every time, but mostly. This is especially noticeable if you're playing pad chords, where a softsynth has to ask CPU to calculate every voice for it, a sample engine just takes a bunch of them. Watch your RAM, though. I doubt this boy is RAM-heavy, but everything is RAM-heavy if you add enough instances. :)
