I know I’m gonna come across as a cube hipster here so I apologize but I have had my cube for probably 10 years now, it’s gone through a lot of changes, and I’m very happy with all the decisions I’ve made so I will share: 120 cards, built for 4 people to have 30 card decks. 60 monsters and 60 spells/traps. All cards are from the pre-extra deck era (august 2008 is when synchros debuted so that’s my cutoff). Other than that, there’s no banlist. All the power cards are there. It’s not built to be balanced it’s built to be fun and nostalgic. A huge emphasis was placed on cards that have seen some sort of competitive play from 2002-2008. This does limit my options for sure and it used to have newer cards, a banlist (no CED or delinquent duo, etc) but I like it being a purely retro cube that brings us back to the days of playing without an extra deck.

Hey, I'm definitely a fan of the "no extra deck" versions of cubes, and we play mine frequently without one. The only reason I added the option was to allow players who got unlucky with their drafts to still have viable strategies available. I'd say that my cube is based on the old school era, but I've added in newer cards that fit that power level and style. It allows me to mix up the cube a bit, while allowing cards that aren't good in modern formats excel and shine in their own way.

Do you have a written out decklist and how much the cards cost? You're cube seems perfect for me and my friends.

Not the guy who made the video, but I recently constructed a cube of 360 cards. My list and his seems pretty similar and I spent about $300 on everything. The most expensive cards being Skill Drain at $25 and Destiny Hero Dasher at $10 on TCG player. You could finagle it to be cheaper if you sought out moderately played cards of lower rarities.

My Cube has one of each card except MST and Twin Twister because many games got to the point where people just had four sets.

My cube is all one ofs now! I had multiples of MST etc. but over time i kept swapping out the multiples for other cards that do similar things. Like Dust Tornado, Typhoon, Galaxy Cyclone, etc.

Singleton is fine. You have cards that act like duplicates. Snatch steal, change of heart, mind control, crackdown, etc.

Hello, I have been looking for a container to hold a 300 card draft. Do you think that the tin you use in this video would fit 300 sleeved cards?

The tin for me held about 250 sleeved cards, so not quite enough for a 300 card draft unfortunately.

I mean.. It's the same rule that Konami uses for Battle Packs, which was Konami's official draft format. Since this is also a draft format it works well with it. Also, if you don't like the rule you don't have to use it, lol.
