Hailing from Germany and currently residing in Amsterdam, Patrice Bäumel continues to establish himself at the forefront of Europe’s house and techno scene. The Kompakt mainstay and former Trouw resident makes his Anjunadeep debut with a pulsating rework of Cubicolor’s ‘Dead End Thrills’, from their breakout debut LP ‘Brainsugar’. With early support from Dixon, Tale Of Us, Laurent Garnier, Pete Tong, Kölsch, Solomun and more, Bäumel kicks off his 2017 in style.

in music there are basically two aspects: predictability and unpredictability for example jazz is (for some people) hard to keep up with => really umpredictable it goes there and comes here ...; techno music in general is reaaaaally predictable => easier to follow but can get quite boring ... and there are musics with a kind of balance: funk is a nice example; it really depends of the people ... but finding a nice equilibrium + adding one or two secret ingredients and here u go with a hit ready to heat any dancefloor

I think the word 'repetitive' is better for techno. Quite a lot of genres are predicable, but techno is much more repetitive than other music. But where people like jazz because they appreciate the skill of the artist and appreciate the complexity of the music, people listen to techno for the flow of the music. I think most genres have their own distinctive features that people enjoy. People are always hating on other genres because they are looking for something in the music that that particular genre doesn't offer. If you are into progressive metal because you think good music is musically and technically complex, you will be disappointed with blues. If you listen to big room and like build ups and hard drops, you will be disappointed with tech house. But if you recognize that each genre has something unique to offer, you can listen to any type of music.

I usually stick to few tracks and I listen to them until they kinda become boring. This... This is something else. It's like every time I listen to it, it sounds different, but the feeling of pure joy is always the same... This track will still sound "fresh", 10 years from now. Timeless!

I agree, house music absent the right venue/sound system doesn't do the genre justice. If you're exposed house music at the right venue/sound system at first, you're set because you can replicate that experience for life when listening to house, but if you haven't been exposed to really good dj's at really awesome venues, you do miss some of the context.
