Why.... It's not realistic it will have enough food for 4 chicks to survive. If the parasite eats it will get larger and potentially kick the rest of them out of the nest.@@leefloresca7014

The best part is when she kinda forgets that this little parasite doesn't belong and she puts the food in his mouth, then she's like SIKE NAH and yanks it back out and feeds it to her own. Priceless!

Because at around 9 minute and 9:45 and 10:40 and 12:50 mark, it fed the cuckoo… fed it many times in the 19-24 min mark

Thats not the real case. Cuckoo chick are too greedy, when the mother place something to eat especially tiny food in it mouth, it used to still open it mouth hoping another larger one. From the mother instinct that mean it can't swallow the food so it take out and tries to another chick. Greediness make him to lose. Another chick are not greedy like cuckoo, so as soon as the mother place inside their mouth if it is small or not, they instantly try to swallow. Sometime if it is too large the mother rearrange it, or taken out and make it smaller or try to another mouth. At 11:16 and 13:20-... You can see that the cuckoo does not swallow and still open it mouth with food already inside it, mother bird rearange for her two time.

Yup, even worse when older, so the others get less or none. Gets to fledge earlier, but stays for the food.

Interesting! How can the parents not see the Cuckoo is different; irritating screech, red not yellow mouth, dark feathers not white down, and open eyes with others closed? Curious.

Due to other comments, I thought the mother bird feeds the cuckoo shit around 25:15, but its a moth. Dang it, I was so hoping I'd get to see a cuckoo get a mouthful of shit.

Looks like an evolved strategy is to feed the parasite *just enough* to not kill it, but not enough that its growth ever overwhelms the true-borns. That way, the mafia momma doesn't come back and wreck the whole nest.

They do that so they can irritate the parents into getting more food for them. They also do it to get the food first. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease"

カッコウの幼鳥は巣から全てを追い出すので通常1羽だけです。【この動画は人間が介入したので4羽が巣にいるのです】カッコウより小さい鳥の巣に托卵する為親鳥の3倍、もしくは4倍カッコウは大きくなります。その為多くの餌を必要となるのでいつも泣いていないと十分な餌を食べる事が出来無くなるので巣立つまで泣き続けるのです。又、3羽いる様に見せかけてより多く餌を運ばせる為に羽を必ず動かすのです。カッコウの動画の中でこの動画が1番興味深く、おもしろいです。ちなみに最近托卵する鳥がいる事や、カッコウの幼鳥が孵化して１２時間後に殺鳥行動をする事を知って衝撃を受けました。

In the animal kingdom, the Male is always the most colorful, and prettier than the Female. I don't know the species of this bird, but the father bird is a beautiful Blue color, while the Mother bird is a dull gray. In the Red bird species, the Male bird is a beautiful dark Red, and the Female bird is a light Red. In the Lion Kingdom, the Male has a beautiful mane, around his neck, and the Female doesn't.
