I was there live! The crowd was hot the entire night, the matches were fantastic, and the main event in particular was honestly the best match I've ever seen. The Extreme Rules should've stolen the show and Gargano/Almas revived the crowd that could've easily been dead. I cannot explain to you how nuts the crowd was for that match in particular, it was unreal.

In one title shot and one title defense, Almas has become my favorite NXT champion ever. That's what's so great about NXT, though sometimes the big signees fall flat, there's always guys that steal the show and MAKE everyone notice them. Don't know who to equate that to wether it's Triple H or not but that's how wrestling should be. Show me why you're the best.

At Philly, he did the face flop from the apron to the floor, which was highly entertaining. I mean, come on. Some props to the guy? And Velveteen Dream is a bloody legend.

Honestly fuck 5 stars. This deserves at least 5.5 - 6 stars. I was more engaged with this match than I was with all Okada vs. Omega matches, and the story behind it was on point as well. My only change would've been for the finish to be a bit more flashy.

During this PPV there were several times where I had a logical predicted winner, but the match was so good that emotionally I wanted/expected the other side to win. Gargano vs Almas for example! Jesus Christ, was I rooting for Gargano by the end of the match, but logically, there was no reason for Almas' reign to end so quickly. Another example was Ember Moon vs Shayna Baszler. Moon losing would make the champion look weak, but goodamn did Baszler get herself over as such a sadistic and dominant heel! You can tell Baszler's having a lot of fun out there and she's got plenty of potential going forward

Gargano v Ciampa should main event NXT Takeover New Orleans in a Hell in a Cell match

I was their and the show was absolutely amazing, it was my first nxt show I've attended and it definitely lived up to everything I had hoped

I'm a grown man, but I'll admit that I squealed twice when Candice and Ciampa came out.

Definitely pleasantly surprised of the Almas Gargano match, definitely match of the year candidate Almas deserves a lengthy title reign and Gargano was amazing

I thought it might have been cool if Ciampa had helped gargano win, then brutalized him, ending with the promise, “now that you’re dreams come true, I get to be the one to take it from you.” Also at this point I only have a subscription to the network for NXT which I will cancel and encourage you to do the same if reigns wins the rumble.

The more NXT I watch the more I want certain guys just to stay there. So many characters are ruined once they get to the main shows. Water them down or give them no time. Look at what these guys can do when they have time to tell a story. All great matches but Amazing final 2... and that spot over the 2 chairs... my back hurts just thinking about it.

This TakeOver was among the best... here’s my review, if anyone cares (probably not but eh, who cares, that’s right, not a lot of people) Tag Title match was great, one of the best tag matches in a long time. Ohno vs Dream was brilliant. Simply put, I loved it. I’m a massive Ohno fan, but man, Dream is going to have a breakout year, no doubt. Baszler vs Moon was weird. Great structure to this match, people are hating it for it being boring but it was enthralling to watch. Cole vs Black was awesome. Some of the spots in this match... jeezus, who suggested the Necro Butcher spot with those chairs, poor Adam Cole. Black won and Cole still looked great. Win-win. This was, no joke, my favourite match of the year until... Almas vs Gargano. The best wrestling match of the year. Fight me. The pace of the match, Gargano Escape being applied for the longest damn time. Gargano’s selling, Almas’ selling. Beautiful sequences, brutal targeting of the head, and a great ending with the top rope DDT. For me, 5 star match. Then Ciampa returned. Yep. I just know that Ciampa vs Gargano at TakeOver: New Orleans is going to be the best thing. Also, EC3 returned, and War Machine/Ricochet were in the crowd, but that was common knowledge. Overall, a beautiful night of wrestling. In my mind, the best TakeOver since Brooklyn III. WarGames was amazing but Brooklyn was historical and this was ground-breaking. Not one bad match.

Wow!I think We're almost getting to a point where watching nxt is going to become a must,not just because of it's quality, but also to allow these wrestlers to continue their buildup on the main roster instead of having to do it all over again, or changing it completely

I have to admit, Velveteen Dream has really impressed me the last two takeover matches he has had against Black and now Ohno, when I first saw his gimmick I thought it was going to be done as a pisstake but I am coming around on dream, already a huge Gargano fan, last night just solidified that and Almas has improved so much since coming in to NXT and is definitely proving a lot of doubters wrong. Can't wait for Ciampia Vs Gargano at (I assume) Takeover: New Orleans (or whatever they call it) but if they dont, I would love to see Almas vs Gargano again for the belt but I would assume that Black is the next challenger to Almas

I’ve said it one and I’ll say it again and I don't give a crap what anyone says, Johnny Gargano, pound for pound, is the best wrestler in WWE period and tonight proved it even in defeat. AJ is a close second in my opinion. Sure AJ is the best worker, but no one can evoke the emotion that Johnny does.

I'm already a johnny Wrestling fan, but need to admit that Almas won me over. Mucho RESPECT to both as they put on WWE's first MOTY candidate.

I just got back from Takeover and it was a great show, except for the women's match which wasn't bad but wasn't as good as the rest of the ppv. The main event was absolutely amazing and one of the best matches I've seen. And the crowd was great too

I saw a lot of people hating on the Ember Moon/Baszler fight but I thought it was pretty good. Ember sold that arm like crazy and made Shayna look dangerous as hell (esp good considering people haven't warmed to her.) The finish was wonky but otherwise I thought they told a good story. I also thought the Adam Cole/Aleister Black match was going to overshadow the main event but Gargano and Almas just brought it. As usual the main show is going to struggle to be anywhere near as good as NXT.
