I actually attended El Toro high, I was a senior when this stunt was performed. The security lady was actually really nice in real life but acted like a total Karen in the video. A majority of my class was upset when this video went viral because we genuinely liked the security lady.

Seriously. Not wearing a helmet is just dumb as fuck. There's no reason for it. We get it, it doesn't look cool. But being brain dead or getting severe head trauma doesn't look cool either lol. Take it from someone whose been there. I never used to care that much about helmets either. But after my first serious concussion where I almost died, I quickly changed my perspective. All it takes is landing on your head the wrong way once.. and you can end up paralyzed or dead. Sure helmets aren't foolproof. But when it comes to your head you should take whatever kind of protection you can get.

I mean, he's not going to do shit. What can he do? If they can't take advice it's on them.

theres a reason most street riders dont wear helmets. when riding street you need complete vision and peripheral vision, especially for tech stuff. and when helmets move/shift/dip in front of your eyes they can cause much worse crashes than just not wearing one. its a give and take when using one. thats why park riders are more commonly wearing helmets than street riders. same with skaters.

Brian m If your helmet moves, shifts, or dips it means you got a bad fit. A helmet that fits right shouldn't ever move. Even if you take a hard crash. And these days there are many 'buckets' that are so lightweight you'll forget you're even wearing one. And there are plenty of skate helmets that have a minimal design that don't obstruct your view at all.

But it's your call bro. If you don't want to wear a helmet, then don't. But I'm just telling you from first-hand experience that it's not worth it. I've seen a lot of lives destroyed by it. I was a pro athlete, some of my friends went to the x-games. We all took hard falls. I saw a few of my friends take falls that they never got up from. They died in a moment just like that. And I've seen a few other friends get paralyzed right before my eyes. Had they of worn a helmet, I'm convinced it would've ended differently. I never used to care about wearing a helmet either. I thought they were for fags. But then I had one bad crash and my opinion changed lol. I got wrecked on a big air jump right before the competition started. Long story short, I hit the jump wrong and fell about 30+ feet straight onto my neck. Paramedics thought for sure I was either dead or paralyzed. Luckily I lived through it. I ended up getting severe head drama and had a lot of recovery to go through. But it was WAY too close of a call. Had I landed just slightly different, I would've been dead. No doubt. So from that moment forward I wear a helmet every time I go riding. I found a bad ass helmet that fits my head perfect and its so lightweight that I forget I'm wearing it half the time.

It's probably the same for this kid. He's going to try as hard as he can to make money BMXing, because that's what he loves to do, and he has the most fun doing that, rather than anything else.
