Love hearing your infectious enthusiasm for Runequest (and a bit for current Chaosium). I agree they're a top tier publisher and there is no setting as deeply realized and immersive in all dimensions (geographic, political, social, religious, etc.) than Glorantha. I still haven't managed to actually play RuneQuest, in spite of being a BRP fan since the 80s. But gosh, the new material is cool. I'm hoping to grab all the Cults of... books over the next year, but we'll see.

Thanks for your great review! I agree with you, the pages of official Runequest material are a little thin, I already tore some pages just by rubbing against them. And this book has a lot of gaming ideas and rules. You also mentioned my favorite writer, Neil Gaiman. He is THE writer of modern mythological stories. I also agree that Runequest in its best shape. Somehow it took that much time for the game to fully blossom. There is a lot of beautiful (base) material from Chaosium, and so much more excellent fan-based material (called the Jonstown Compendium) supported by Chaosium. It's a world to really dive into. Looking forward to your next RQ review.
