On the DJ question, the other challenge is that top music released by top hip-hop artists has not been hip-hop, technically. It has leaned more to afro-beats, kwaito, and borderline dance music. Take Sete, Lemonade and maybe even Company. Big songs by big artists but not technically hiphop. Similar challenge in the years before that. Hip-hop artists were incorporating log drum in beats, higher tempos, because of the Yano pressure. So there are now two extremes in hiphop for the DJ: You either play the rap raps that have been released over the last two or so years or keep playing hiphop bangers released before yanos generation. Maybe a third choice rely on international hiphop for newer vibes.
