Japan is attempting to move forward( as it has always done,while retaining it's identity and culture) and the UK's so called diversity isn't so beneficial,as with all of the violence and disharmony and lack of a particular cultural identity which even in difficult times,can galvanize people!..When I visit a country( like Japan) I hope to see& meet locals and experience their culture! When you go to Chinese supermarkets in London Chinatown or any other city you still have to use cash unless you spend over ￡10. Also bigger Cities in UK are more diverse and they are blessed with it, but living in smaller cities and growing up as a minority you ain't shocked, it's like you just have to live with it 😅 For me I didn't mind using cash in Japan cause then I knew how much I was spending but if I was spending a lot of money then I use debit card.
