Gotta love the "no obnoxious music during the actual building process" and the "speed up all the tedious bits" That way you show EVERYTHING but in a good way thats great to watch

Project binky has an episode where they cover the proper tool to chase threads. A tap will take metal material out of the threads. Wish I remembered what it was called.

Didn’t read all 175 comments, but a trick I picked up from Matt Happle was to use a cutoff wheel on a stock bolt to make a thread chaser. You mentioned maybe chasing threads, just didn’t know if you were hip to that way.

@TaylorRay one thing I’d recommend doing is replace the front and rear main seal. Don’t want a leaky engine when you put it together and also it’s easier to do since the engine is already out!

Normal engine builders always chase all block holes with a tap before assembly. Plus install two studs to serve as guides when installing the head.

Taylor!! You're 100% right about just getting the project knocked out and worry about the little stuff when its running and driving. I've got a 2004 GTO I'm building and have almost everything I need to get it running and driving. I want to get it done before my brother gets leave from the military in April so we can go rip it together. But I'm worried I won't have enough time because of all the little things I want to do. You've inspired me to just get it done and running so I can go make some memories with my brother. Good advice Taylor! I always appreciate your videos and knowledge

I'm no professional, but on any head gasket job when replacing bolts with studs, I've ALWAYS done the studs to block first, then gasket, then head. Just seems better to go through one step each way than half-way through three and finishing. Also, that beepy tq wrench is dope.

to clean threads like that when a normal size cleaner tap won't work: use a dremel or small grinder to cut a few slots the length of an original head bolt to clean the threads out.

Nice! I wish you would have changed the pushrods and valve springs right away though, because if you want to give it more boost or raise the rev limiter later, those mods are pretty much mandatory, and you're gonna have to reset your valve lash twice now... Plus if you upgrade, half inch diam. 2-piece rods, tubes and springs will only cost like 500$... Costs less than your time!

I own a 1965 ford f 100 being that i'm in a wheel chair i had some so called mechanic help with with my truck but every time i tied to go get it he would have his with come and tell me he wasn't home, so i had to call the police to get my truck back but when i did they blew my motor and made my 3in coker white walls into slicks, ever sense then i been kind of bed bound with a colostomy bag and sick. Like all you car guys out there know the feeling of a broke down vehicle. Thank you for the video i wish you the best sir.
