This technique does not actually use the merge feature. Try using the group feature.

​@@PrimeDirectivesArmoryI assume Merge is not the same as Merge. I assume Merge makes the models into one, as you say, whereas Group only makes them a group and not one model. I assume merge will make one object which will make one outer skin, for example. However, merge separates the models which is the opposite of merge. Please advise.

@@Ork4life Yea, thanks for your concern . I do not exactly recall why I was questioning this but I have no issues with merge any longer probably because I found a resolution one way or another. Thanks again for your concern.

@@PrimeDirectivesArmory I have a situation where I am Texturing and Tagging a Tapered Pipe (a bit more complicated than a tapered pipe, but for illustration). To line up the texture and tag with the outside of the pipe is a delicate operation. I have been able to get it done with many many hours of adjustments but it's not practical. Grouping does nothing, as far as I can tell, to make a single model. I am confused since you used Merge, correct? It turned Zebra and seemed to work.? I have a suspicion the origins of each model is why they get disassembled. But, I believe it should work as one wants with the knowledge to do so.

@@PrimeDirectivesArmory Cura Forum says this: First go into the cura preferences (not project settings). Go to menu item "Preferences" (or Alt+R). Then "configure cura". Make sure "ensure models are kept apart" is unchecked. But, Mine is unchecked.

@@PrimeDirectivesArmory I was able to place everything touching in Blender then select each model and export that as a single stl file. When opened in Cura it is a single file and a single model. It took me about 1 1/2 years to figure that just now.
