The shoes were meant to be worn by others. Non-jews. German, clean genetics. Not sure, if fulfilling that 80 (!!!!!!!) Years later is that great. My heart! The hysterical death I duthed 😂 I was raised hyper catholic but in Christian schools and we school tripped to the Holocaust Museum because my school taught us that Jewish people are the chosen ones (the WAYS I tried to finagle my way into being Jewish. No more confession! No more, ok much less, ok less guilt. I would just be zipped in to heaven no matter what I did! 🎉). Honestly though that place made my little fifth grade self wake up. I’m certain It’s why I’m an activist today. But DAMN I’m still dying over here. He stole the shoes 😂😂😂

@@genxx2724 you didn't get it at all. Larry liberated those shoes from being interred as props in a pseudo-museum, after they had been interred in a forced labor camp. That dancing in the sunlight after the storm literally screams out "still here, still a survivor", not held hostage to a Nazi regime or identity politics. It is a celebration of life and the human spirit. Otherwise it would have been insane to do a jig.

The final scene where Larry, departing the museum memorializing the Holocaust, breaks into a little happy dance in the rain while wearing the shoes of one of the victims of that genocide, I understand as symbolizing Jewish affirmation of life after even the most terrible of tragedies.
