This time on Curiosities of Staffordshire we visit the site of RAF Fauld which, in 1944 became the site of one of the largest munitions based explosions in history up to that point and the largest on UK soil. We look at the history of the explosion, what caused it, and the site as it is found today. The explosion left a quarter-mile diameter crater in the landscape that remains to this date and the local area has many popular walking trails.
