We had one living in our garage where I grew up. He was fine with us being there. One day we had a technician come over to install a garage keycode pad. He said he'd found the weasel growling at him and trying to bite him. He was very territorial. It was our little guard weasel.

A couple years ago I saw one of these guys while I was walking on a trail! I was at the end of a bridge when suddenly a tiny head popped out from under it! I sat at the end of that bridge for a while and watched the weasel pop up, then go back under the bridge several times. Eventually it came up to investigate further! It was very curious and very cute. I had no idea what kind it was until now. Thanks, Coyote!!

@Brave Wilderness Human bite force is actually much higher than 80lbs on average, especially in the molars. Out of a thousand random people selected, several males were able to reach in the mid 200s up to 275lbs, most others falling short due to ceasing their bite input because of pain. Women on average had a lower bite force, however some were able to generate significantly more in the incisors than in their molars due to accidental conditioning (biting a pencil daily in their job routine to deal with stress, etc, was one of the causes for some). Dr. G. E. Black, president of the Chicago Dental University conducted this experiment. Just a tid bit I thought was interesting. This is all of course not taking into account the theoretical maximum of what the power might be if someone were to bite someone/thing in defense of themself, which would very likely be significantly higher than any normal testing under non-stressful circumstances. Children biting off people's fingers with seeming relative ease during a fight/tantrum? There you go.

@@Zuion_Art Maybe if you base the ratio on size, but a human mouth could envelop a weasel and quite literally bite it in half, it's not exactly comparable in practice... Believe me I'd rather get bitten by a weasel than some crazy person in a fight.
