As always a fascinating albeit sad video. The conjoined sisters were an inspiring pair, and it is amazing that they lived as long as they did. Many women died young back in those days for a variety of reasons . Whatever their story about the son, whether true or not; it is quite clear that they loved him . Anyone can see that by the loving looks between them.

According to the movie “La Bamba”, Richie Valens apparently had recurring dreams about planes crashing and was petrified of flying.

That was poetic license. He didn't want to fly that particular trip because the plane was just barely newer than the ones used in WW2. Twin engine turboprop. High winds would rock it like a hammock in a hurricane. Icing would make that worse.,.overall he had good reason to not want to fly

Interesting stuff there! The Australian case was also covered in both local and National papers, the latter covering it as "a bit of a joke" type of article, since in those days mental health issues were not really mentioned amongst "polite company".

About the Brazilian pop band name, Mamonas Assassinas, the original meaning "Mamonas" is not "Breast", but the fruit of the plant called Ricinus communis. Also called Castor Beam or Castor Oil Plant. In Brazil it is called mamona. This bush grows in the wild in the suburb of the cities, and boys usually play war games firing and "killing" each other with the mamona fruit using a sling. It is very painful when someone is hit. It is a kind of low coast paintball game. And yes, it has a second subliminal meaning for manonas, that is a slang for a very big female brest. The main cause for the accident was the pilot do not follow the go around track after the missed approach. He turn left, insted of turn right. That put the plane flying low over high terrain. Very nice videos. Good job!

The Birkenhead Drill says that "Women and Children" were to be saved first. I should expect therefore. that if there were any males in the Lifeboats apart from Crewmen, that all the women and children had first been found a place in the Lifeboats. I suspect that many Third Class Passengers, including women and children did not have the opportunity to try and find a place in the Lifeboats. It feels a little wrong, therefore when Thomson Beattie was found a place in a Lifeboat wearing his Dinner Jacket.
@louises.8899
@louises.8899 3 жыл бұрын
Collapsible A was washed off the deck before it could be properly launched, so I would guess Mr Beattie probably climbed into it from the water. As for the fact that he was wearing a dinner jacket - well, that's presumably simply what he was wearing. On a somewhat related note, I've always found the concept of "women and children first" questionable at best. "Children first" I can absolutely get behind, but prioritising women in a situation where a man's (on average) greater physical strength isn't going to help him much seems wrong.
@georgewalls152
@georgewalls152 3 жыл бұрын
@@louises.8899 The point being about the women, we are dealing with a time when that was the norm. To do anything else as a man would be wrong. When he took the place in the boat, the decent thing to do for him in those days would be to surrender it to a woman or child. As for the collapsible boat. If it was washed off the deck and there were no women and children left on board, then he had every right in my opinion to take the place. Do we know how many women and children were left on board other than those that were in third Class and were trapped?

I am not part of "cancle culture". I actually think the Darwin Awards can be lessons for us to learn from. (Look up the Michael Sexson story) But, it does bother me that a man who had suffered brain damage was the winner of a darwin award. Death from seeming stupidity, and death from uncontrollable mental/physical issues is not the same thing. Micheal Sexson took little provisions into a harsh terrain, was rescued, and then went back without any survival gear for a second time. Sadly, he didn't come out alive. This is a cautionary tale to learn from. Neil should not be a Darwin award winner. The man died of a medical emergency. That is not a cautionary tale. It could happen to anyone. Should he have been taking his meds, yes. But, it sounds like he was not totally stable mentally. They took his eccentricities and made them a joke. Its sad on so many levels. I would like to see him removed from the list. Darwin Awards should be for people who should have known better. Not people like Neil.

People can have feelings that can't be explained,I believe that impending Doom can send vibes back in time before the doom actually happens, possibly history may be repeating itself, reincarnated people may remember things that have already happened in a prior life,may be recalled before they happen again

I....I had not thought of it in that way but...you could be right. It could be an explanation as to why some people....avoid disaster. Why some people....have that bad feeling that makes them decide to go left instead of right and avoid something....bad happening to them. Very interesting to think about ^.^

Love your stories. I have a question. If it’s not too delicate to ask. In the Siamese twins case how could one have survived 13 months longer than the other ? How would that even work ? Very confusing. X

loved the video. when you brought up the the plane crash and the horrible history music bands have with, it made me think. maybe you can talk about the allman brothers in another video in the futre. both die at the same turn in New York city. And if i remember correctly, exactly 1 year apart.
