@@ketoburrito13 OMG IT ACTUALLY DID!! i ended up using a method of curling the sections chunkier because i liked how it looked after drying :)))

Thank you to parents like you 💞 my mom never wanted to learn to care for our hair right, just blamed us 'not washing properly' and said we look like orphans all the time and now I really struggle with hair insecurity so seeing parents like you taking this step to be able to teach their children hair care instead of just shaming them just melts my heart 💖🥺

@divinityomine6935 well, she's just 2 years old and hopefully I do learn enough to teach her. I have thick straight hair so my hair was never something i had to ever really care for and have always been a lover of curly hair, I just didn't realize the maintenance needed for it to look normal. Definitely opened my eyes to anyone with curly hair because of the work it must take to care for it. I bet you have beautiful hair, I hope you can fully embrace it someday, videos like these definitely give a different outlook 💝

​@@divinityomine6935 yo same man. The amount of times I got teased for my hair being frizzy or bushy from my family is way too much. Especially since they didn't know how to treat curly hair and instead straightened it to death. How the fuck was I going to know how to look after it? Now I give as good as I get tho, even when now I get comments that "it's just wash and go". Atleast my mom turned her view around.

I don't get it I see so many ppl doing this. It's wild. My hair stylist did it for me once and it was just amazing.

I was thinking the same thing, that must be a LOT of work. I thought curls just defined themselves, but I guess I'm just lucky. 😅

i mean alot of people just do their normal hair routine and then define the curls that frame your face and a couple random ones on top, usually never every single hair on their head

How do you keep the curls from tangling? Mine get super tangled after it dries.

Use a diffuser. Plop your curls onto it and dry them. Should give you volume and less frizz than air drying

Ive been transitioning my hair back to curly and i used a diffuser the other day rather than just plopping and letting it air dry, and mg curls ended up being less defined and messier than when i dont use the diffuser . Its confusing to me lol

I feel this and mine was a literal hairdresser, I either went to school with a random number of thick plaits on either side of my head or the white people ballerina bun. I didn’t even know I had edges until I was a teenager. I’m glad white people with mixed kids are starting to think of their kids as less of an aesthetic and learning about their kids hair and culture though. I still struggle with my hair so I keep it short and natural

I got them covered tho. U should tell ur mom how u feel... and that it's not ok she did u that way. 🥺 maybe you can feel some peace from it.

@@andreaknisley154 truly I have met enough people to know it's not even most white parents anymore, my mom was just neglectful to the max in my opinion; I cut contact with her this last year when she tried to take my baby from me after luring me back to the family home. 😮‍💨 Some people are just bad people no matter which way ya look at it. Makes me happy to see so many white parents not using their own race as an excuse to neglect their children's duality, really gives me hope that everyone can learn to be more caring. 😊💞

You can I’ve been doing it for years. Just use freshly washed hair and a cream or gel, a denman or any other detangljng brush.

Get a good curling cream and a denman brush. With clean wet hair, apply the curling cream evenly throughout your hair and use the denman brush to brush your curls. Use your fingers to coil the ends. It works. Just godda find the right product. 👍🏽
