Thank your for this video. I was having a hard time finding the name of where I think a leak is coming from on mine. I believe the leak is coming from the speed sensor plug-in just to the left of the pressure switch plug-in. Is it possible for it to form a leak from there, and how might I go about fixing it? Is it as simple as the speed sensor having an o-ring, and I just remove the sensor and replace the old o-ring with a new one? I’m also assuming I’d need to drain the transmission before I could remove the speed sensor? If that’s the case a simple drain and fill doesn’t require a CVt relearn does it? Sorry for the long winded question. I’ve searched all over the internet and can’t seem to find any information on fixing this leak if it’s in fact coming from the speed sensor plug.

Thanks for watching. There is an o-ring on it. In rare occasions in can leak through where the connector is. In that case you will need to replace the sensor. You can put something under it to catch the fluid. Be sure and use CVT fluid to replace it.

If tearing down a tr580, would it make sense to replace the steel belt and other parts? Any codes?

Maybe. I would at the very least replace all the seals, clutches & filter. The belt + anything else beyond that would be a judgement call.

mine started to whine loud on startup in any gear then the noise just stopped and now i have no forward or reverse so would that be the pump or belt slipping

The whine was probably a clogged filter. Just what came apart and plugged it is anybody's guess. You won't know till you get in there.

Was making a bearing noise when moving. There was a couple of suspect bearings, but we did not get to repair it so I don't know if that would have fixed it.
