Thank you for the video I'm getting ready to rebuild one in 2002 Silverado k1500, when i pulled it ,it has a Muncie ticket and stamped Muncie in casting, l called around for parts and both places said it is a get rag ,have you seen a getrag with any Muncie casting ,it is original and a 5 speed

Muncie made a version with licensing from Getrag, it is called MG290 or HM290, later version is 5LM60.

I just got a 91 k2500 (heavy 1/2 ton). It has a 5 speed manual transmission, do you know if it is the same as the one you are rebuilding in the video?

It could be either this one or a NV4500.

Externally looks very much like an NV3500. Internally, is the main difference the NV has a single shift rail while the Getrag has a single shift rail? Thank you, great video.

Thanks. There are several different versions of this transmission. I think of them as the same, and they are with a few differences. One of them being the shift rails. The other being the way the input shaft bearing is set up.

Don't remember but judging by the bearings that I see, I would say yes. They are all basically the same with differences in the main bearings and the synchronizer assemblies.
