Thanks for watching. These can be had for $250 to $400 in F to XF condition. The one mentioned in the video was the highest grade best example of the note. The market has also gone a little softer for U.S. currency as compared to the past few years. Best regards, ACI

That 1928 $50 gold certificate is so valuable because it has a serial number of number 1. A high grade 1928 $100, $500, and $1000 gold certificate generally is much more valuable than the 1928 $50 gold note especially if they are star notes.

Interesting, well done. Do you know of any place where they may have kept a record of the USA notes and if so is it available online? Also in the years I was in the war (RVN) they used military payment certificates which they would change every 6 months. Would there be any records of these notes and perhaps you could talk a little about the history of Military payment certificates??? Like when did they begin, etc.

As you know there are MANY notes that have no prices listed in the SCoWPM with many of them not having any catalog value listed because they are so rare. Do you know if there is a list of notes that there are no known copies still in existence?

Hi Gerald, thanks for watching. It is difficult to say. There are certain notes and varieties that are only in the possession of museums or national banks, with one or two examples known in existence. I am not sure of note no longer in existence. I am sure there are examples of certain early banknotes from China that are no longer in existence, but as for a definitive list I do not know of one. I hope that helps. Best, ACI

It's not the rarest in the list but my favorite is the 1882 five hundred dollar gold certificate. It was a found specimen with clear pedigree and found essentially untouched. Absolutely amazing.

Hi ACI, I have got my hands on 1924 10 and 20 German reichsmark. I definitley am not a grader, but i'd say they would be around 30. I would like to ask what those could be worth together, because you seemed the one to ask that. I also bought a 5000 Yugoslavian dinara from 1955 at a town's market on vacation, and just as the Reichsmark I wondered what it was worth.Kind regards, Sten.

the Bank Of Canada 1935 $500 French issue is extreamly rare as well, as well as the American $5000 banknote

You bring up some great points. The American $5,000 bill does indeed fetch very large sums as it is the rarest of the American high denomination notes. It fetches a higher premium over face value than even the $10,000 bill. As for Canadian currency I must admit I am not an expert, but the currency looks to have a rich history. My Dad Had A Variously Different collections, War Bank Notes ,Wheat Backs. Stamps. Mint Coins ,Old Coins Going Back To 1800, And Older ,Some Are worn And Some Of the Bank Notes Are In Good to fair condition, I ha e been told they are not worth Anything ? Or don't want to Pay For Any wheat backs. Said they are only Worth 2 cents And old silver dimes worth 20 cents ,I have them put Away for my Children ?But they Are Not Into collecting Or Dont Really Care ,I've Held On To A Lot Of Different Stamp And Notes And Letters That I'm Not Sure Of ? There are also $10 gold certificates, $20 gold certificates, and $100 gold certificates of the small note variety. There are numerous other varieties as well. They can be picked up online or at local shops if you know where to look. You might try those or perhaps I could source one for you if you are interested. Cool presentation. My favorite note is the Gold Lincoln $500. But I'm a simple guy. I'd settle for any twentieth century $1,000 bill, which I once held in my hands when they were still legal tender!! Thats showing my age, oh well. I do have a question and I hope your still answering them. I'm an old coin collector. But new to the digital age. Still learning how best to use the PC. Are you, or any collectors you know, aware of a 1916 Mercury dime muled with a 1917 Lincoln penny obverse both? I know a collector here in europe with one for sale but I think it must be a hoax. Is it possible for this combination? My doubts arise due to their being a year apart. Any leads are helpful. Thank you.

That 10 shilling is from the 1913, Australia was not around in the 1817 as a Federal Government. M000001 was given to the Governor General's Daughter, talk about nepotism.

Hi Rodrigo, Thanks for your your question the 100000 gold certificate cannot be legally held by private collectors. It was only used for official transactions between the federal reserve banks. If you had an authentic example and wanted to sell it I’m not sure you could do so legally, hypothetically it could be worth several million dollars. I hope that helps. Best regards, ACI

I loved all of them. My stepfather worked in the bank Bronx New York Hunts Point and let me tell you this Bank used to do nothing but printing global the only thing they did for the United States was food stamps back in those days and Lincoln one cent well they decide to move out the country they invite all day workers and someone wanted to go getting didn't but they gave gifts out and they gave the special paper out with a giant envelope with just the portraits of one dollar bill $2 bill $5 bill $10 bill $20 bill $50 bill $100 bill $500 bill $5,000 bill and a $10,000 bill what you say about that

My friend has a 1907 gold certificate $1,000 dollar bill and he said he's going to give it to me because I helped him and cared for him and he likes what I cooked because I'm Mexican and I cook Mexican food he loves Mexican food a lot ..I like to help old people and I'm going to be one lucky Mexican to have a 1907 gold certificate $1,000 dollar bill and it's in crisp and gem condition but I'm not going to sell it I'm going to give to my children for generations and generations

How stupid are people to pay more money than the note is actually worth all because it has word of mouth on it based off its unusual look ha people never make any sense what so ever

Thank you for the comment. While I certainly appreciate perspective, I must respectfully disagree. People are not paying based on the unusual look, but for historical significance and rarity, but most of all, they are paying perceived value or market value. Almost all of the prices we pay are based on perceived value. A typical Rolex watch costs around $300-$500 to manufacture, but the perceived value is much higher. I can make some scribbles on a piece of paper and it would be worth nothing, but if those scribbles on that same piece of paper were made by Pablo Picasso they would command a significantly higher premium.
