My 25 yr old son has T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and prior to stemcell transplant we have just been left reeling from extremely negative consultation . We had hope before and now we feel so scared to go ahead with treatment . Told only 20% chance of making it through and that she thought he was borderline fit to go through this and would prob be permanently damaged from radiation etc . Why terrify us with such neg info. There was nothing positive about our talk other than that she was happy to go ahead but didnt like his chances. Really hard to talk him back to a positive state of mind after this and from what she said if it was me with cancer, i would have refised further treatment . My son wants to live and thought this was his only chance. Now we dont feel anything other than terror at the thought of what is going to happen on the 27th when transplant proccedure starts.
