Microtransactions and DLC are two great evils in gaming today. Where we used to get the complete experience back in the 6th generation. Today's Gaming trends are skating dangerously close to another gaming crash. People are tired of being nickeled and dimed for things that used to be part of the package.
Forza is one of my favorite racing series. I have played and owned every Forza game since the original. Yet Forza 7 will be my first to ignore due to the strong arming of Microtransactions and DLC. I feel that I am only getting 40% of the game and I am forced to pay upwards of $100 to get a near complete package. These practices have forced many gamers to skip newer games and go back to previous generations for their gaming fix.
I bought an Original Xbox last month and was able to collect a reasonable amount of games for cheap. For the price of two $60 games, I was able to get the Console, Controller and close to 15 games. All of which don't have DLC or Microtransactions and some of them have never seen a rerelease.
