In today's video, I wanted to give you a peek at some of the curricula that we won't be using for 3rd-grade homeschool, as well as some of the curriculum that will not get finished before the end of our second-grade year.

So gratifying to go through curriculum at the end of the year and say goodbye to the stuff that didn't work! I think I'm one of those that would get overwhelmed by picking which problems to do/not do if using Dimensions. I do like the layout of the Teachers guide for Dimensions vs Primary 2022. I find my eyes glazing over when I'm prepping for the lesson and I become highlighter happy with Primary 2022 😅 Very interested to see your Dimensions 3A video!

I definitely had an issue with that back at Dimensions 1B, I felt if it was in the book we "had to do it". I still struggle from time to time with this but I think I found a away to mitigate this with Dimensioms 3A, really excited to share!

Thank you so much for sharing. Primary 2022 has been perfect for my 1st grader, but I started introducing multiplication after watching your videos. Looking forward to the other videos. :)

We love the original Primary Mathematics series with Singapore. I was tempted to try the new one but I’m glad we didn’t in the end. I’ve also been considering Writing With Ease. Thanks for sharing!

Yes the original PM is fantastic. WWE is such a gentle approach and one we have enjoyed for some time. So many wonderful literature readings within the program too!

You may like Pentime Cursive. It's very independent, affordable and effective.

So other than the STEAM activities, which you had mentioned in another video comments section as something that you did not really do or enjoy, what else about PM 2022 was unenjoyable? I'm starting to give my kids (6.5 and 9) placement tests for Dimensions, but I have the tests printed for PM US ed and PM 2022. I'm definitely checking around to get as much info as I can before I commit to this for the school year. I need to emphasize that my kids are coming from Right Start (great program, very time consuming) and I didn't teach them math everyday. My fault, but I was burnt out! So, I need them to learn math well, but they're coming from RS Math Level A and B, 1st and 2nd grade respectively (I think), even though they should be further along according to the grade level they're in. Thanks so much for your help!!!!

After using both PM US and Dimensions PM2022 did not have the same feel at all in the learning. I have since found that PM2022 is the easiest of the 3 methods. Dimensions is the most challenging for students and the original PM is the just under Dimensions in difficulty. From a teacher standpoint the original PM was the easiest one to "teach". Next would be Dimensions. We have moved back to Dimensions, but it love the original PM also. Both use manipulatives and follow the true "Singapore method" whereas the PM2022 does not.

@@knowledgebynature8480 That's interesting! The Balanced Mom said they took the Singapore Math name, but they did not write it or even co-author it. So the change in method makes sense. Your explanation between Primary US Ed and Dimensions is more than I've heard in other videos. Thanks for taking the time to explain it!

I bought the 180 Days of Social Studies for First Grade and we did not like it. The information was SO simplistic that it was rather useless and I would say almost inaccurate.

There were some sections that we liked better than others but overall not a favorite for sure.
