In this wargaming terrain tutorial video I craft a cursed hill centerpiece for D&D and Wargaming. Hills like this are easy to make and really elevates the tabletop. As most of my wargaming terrain , this piece is made from XPS foam with the addition of some sculptamold. I also sculpted a crystal which you can download below as a free STL. I hope you like it! I like your intros Leif. And I like the idea of a removable crystal. And that it is hollow. The rescued object / person can be hidden in it. Good job old viking.

This project really grabbed me with both right hands! Joking aside, really impressed with the bigger skulls that got fused into the terrain/ground. Some of them are almost not visible but you see the hole pattern of the eyes and nose and get a creepy feeling. Good job!!

This was an amazing video to watch. Love the narration, the process, the camera work and music. I had a question, for these types of realistic terrain, do you have rules that you use for determining distance. I'm so locked into hexes and squares. Is it just the model is 5 ft, so move the length of a model's distance, 5ft at a time, on the terrain to determine distance? Do you use special rulers for spells? Fantastic watch, thanks for putting out such interesting work!

That's an excellent question! Generally for D&D I rule in the favor of the players and when it comes to distances and "the lack of squares or hexes" I have some "inch-sticks" and we simply use common sense. If your bases touch then you're in range for melee combat.

Oooh, very sinister-looking terrain piece Leif, I love when pieces tell a story! I have a quick question regarding your airbrush. What kind of compressor do you use, and how loud is it? I'm thinking of taking the leap into airbrushing, but still want to stay on good terms with my neighbors by not waking them up 😄 thanks in advance, and happy crafting!
