My Father won this album at a March of Dimes Auction in the 1950's. For him it was a donation. For me it was life changing. I have literally been listening to this music for almost 60 years and it just doesn't get dated. Wonderful Stuff.....

One of the most underrated groups in jazz, probably because they were West Coast musicians playing East Coast style music. Carl Perkins' passing at the age of 29 and Frank Butler retirement from Jazz scene making these recordings even more important now.

Land was simply a first class tenor player. Great front line when he played with Clifford Brown!!!!!!

Very nice group , people forget Jack Shelton was a solid Trumpet man , thinking more of his comedic banteron the Merv Griffin Show . Of course the great Harold Land probably after leaving Brown Roach Inc. wonder Los Angeles based piano player Carl Perkins , Leroy Vinnagar and Frank Butler .

Such a great tune, anyway...but I really love this arrangement! The solos are great, too!

I have always thought Harold Land to be one of the finest tenor players in jazz. Check out his work with Clifford Brown.
