We're keeping those Kermie Cam's coming! Here's another frequently requested plane we know you're going to want to see . . . the Curtiss TP-40N. Part 1 Kermit gives some history on the plane before going into a pre-flight tour, explaining all the systems as he checks out the plane. Part 2 you're in the cockpit and get a feel for being in the pilot's seat getting ready to fly. In part 3 you take to the skies for some fast passes and maneuvers. Hope you enjoy the ride.

Ridgeview Warhawks High school, is my kids high school and their official mascot is WW2 P-40 Warhawk. It is fully restored and does fly overs of our football field on the 1st day of school and homecoming football games. It makes its home at a local WW2 flying museum, just down the road in Nampa, Idaho.

Loving this - I flew T-6s for most of my life - and my dad, Duncan Broome flew Kittihawk IVs in North Africa in WW2, 76 years ago. So every detail of this great walkaround means a lot to me. Will be in Florida in September, so hope to drop in.

I visited the Cavanaugh Flight museum some years ago and met a WWII pilot there who was turning in his log books and personal items. He told me he flew P-40's in Africa during WWII. Curious,I asked him how he learned to fly and land the P-40 assuming they did not have dual controls back then. He told me that his instructor stood on the wing with him and gave him all the instructions on how to start it and general control operations. He told me that the instructor then went up into the tower and talked to him by radio through the take off and fly around in the traffic pattern and then giving him a detailed instructions and critique on landing. He said..." he talked me all the way though it and told me if I was high, fast, low or slow...". I have heard that was a common teaching practice back then. Absolutely amazing.

I cant believe that plane was in Death Race, one of my all time favorite movies. When I saw it as a kid, it had such a great impact on me. Plus I was lucky enough to know General Bob Scott, had visited him not even two months before his death in Macon. Thanks.

I was the kid of a NASA Engineer. We were three famalies from VA moved to TX with space program in 1962. On of the other moters told me she worked in a P-40 factory in WW2. One night a new one came off the line and it was being test flown at night I believe. The engine quit so the test pilot bailed. The engine restarted after he left the airplane. She mentioned his name but I don't. Recall it. The fighter crashed into one of the buildings or building where people were building them. She said it killed 8 workers and the poor guy never got over it. Not a pleasant story but your video made me recall this as I was told it while in high school; prior to 1975 is when my dad retired.

Can't wait for the take off! I've 'ridden' along with you on every flight video so far. I was stationed on Ford Island when they filmed Toro Toro Toro and got to visit the hangers where they stored the cars, planes, and silhouettes of planes. I am especially liking the 'mechanic's videos'! A great addition! Following the Benoit project now. I've visited your museum 4 times and took the behind scenes tours several times. I was crushed when you closed but understand why. I'm equally thrilled that you are, at least, partially back. Keep 'em flying, my friend.

Had the pleasure of visiting FOF several years ago. There was a Lawson user conference that booked the place for a party. The band Boston was playing. While they were good, it was all the planes that held my fascination. I spent all evening going from plane to plane checking out all the different shapes and designs. The Connie was there as well as the DC3 pitched nose down. I assume that DC3 was too bad to rebuild? Great explanation and I'd love to visit again someday.
