That last goal..... The distance from where he came.... Amazing how someone is able to judge the distance exactly right to end up in such a way to deliver a powerful kick and have the ball travel exactly where it should go. I mean: I have tried it myself obviously, as we all did. Placing the ball somewhere on the field. Backing up to create a lot of distance. And GO! And somehow i always end up with the wrong foot at the ball..... I am a right foot kinda guy, and i always end up with the left foot being the one that should kick the ball. Or, i am able to use my right foot, but i am either just a bit too far away or i am too close to the ball to deliver a really good kick.... That goal, seeing how the player approached the ball from great distance and delivering the exact amount of power and control/angle/input, it is just amazing.

if a pro player can explain how to judge such a distance the right way..... how to know with which foot to start the approach.... etc etc..... it would be much appreciated. Unable to figure it out. I tried putting the ball down on a spot, and backing up with controlled steps. Counting them. And i still end up in a wrong position when i go for the kick. Surely there is some way of knowing how to approach this problem, right>?

@@bertjesklotepino I'm sure Roberto would have at least something useful to say, but you two are overanalyzing it. He tried this in game probably hundred times, it went in like this only once, and he tried it in practice probably 10 or hundred thousand times and it goes in like this once in a lifetime. Maybe If he was judging distance better, counting steps like some players, maybe he would have scored more goals from free kicks than he did, who knows. But on this one, for sure everything turned out to be perfect :)

O #2 do Ronaldinho foi um gol que chocou a galera mesmo, porque daquela posição que ele tava todos acharam que ele ia cruzar, tanto que o goleiro até ficou adiantado. Realmente pegou a turma de surpresa. Contudo o #1 foi merecido, essa cobrança memorável do R. Carlos é uma pintura, meteu um petardo de lá de trás e ainda pegou essa curva. Diria que aí se encontram os dois melhores batedores de falta. Ronaldinho era um gênio que cobrava falta sempre com criatividade, falta próxima da linha da área era batata, fora que depois dele a galera sempre coloca algum jogador deitado atrás da barreira pra impedir gol por baixo. Eu mesmo já tive a oportunidade de ver ele cobrando falta na época que ele jogava pelo Flamengo, isso no estádio, ele é um gênio. E claro, R. Carlos por muitas vezes o goleiro nem via a bola de tão rápida, o cara era um monstro.

Roberto Carlos should be on here a couple of times. He scored one in Italy during the run of play from the goal line, right side of the goal (his left), again using the outside of his left foot. O jogador brasileiro sempre foi indisciplinado e festeiro, jogavam de ressaca e dava boa porque o futebol era menos equilibrado, hj como todos os países evoluíram no seu futebol, já não dá mais boa jogar de ressaca mas os brasileiros insistem nisso.
