I love this video's of Custer. The cowboy shows of yesteryear were great. Installed some value int the young people of the day. Unlike these new shows. Most of which are about betrayal and deceit.

Never tire of watching this episode either. I look forward to each episode posted and will be sorry when they're all up as there won't be any more to look forward to. Still, I'll be able to see them again and again and again etc etc etc. Thanks!!

Many thanks for sharing this Dwightt. I used to love this as a kid watching it in Scotland and haven't seen it for over 40 years. I remember getting the book "The Legend of Custer Annual" for Christmas when it came out in 1968 and the model of Custer on his horse! Thanks again and I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest.

I haven't seen this show since i was a kid in the '70s! I remember the obstacle course scene and the charge from the markers. But i don't remember the helicopter shots! That was pretty good for tv in those days. Bloody good trip down memory lane!

Thanks for this video. I have recorded the episode from TV more than 20 years ago. Very much impressed by Custer's tactics to charge during his enemy's rifle reloading. My tape has long gone. Still keeping the exciting charging scene in my computer. Your version is more clear and sharper. Have been searching for clearer version thro KZfaq for a long time. Happy to see it was just shown few months ago this year.

Thanks for posting these. I missed this series as a kid, cause it was on as the same time as the Virginian, and that's what I watched. This was a very entertaining series.

At least fans of the 1966 Time Tunnel will probably going to hate or like the show, since Custer was a better bet than the second season of The Time Tunnel.

Custer was the worst ever cadet in his class so he was the same stupid as a commanding officer. Self- esteemed idiot and blood thirsty criminal. "Loyal American" - does that mean the killer of women and children is a good sample of "Loyal American" and " Patriot" ?! Custer's name was meaning instant Death to any Native American regardless of age or sex. May his soul burn in a hell forever!

That's an important point. Custer, for all his bravado, was sworn to act in accordance with his orders.

You heard it hear first. The Winchester the bad dude is carrying at 36:15 is the same one Paul Newman used in HOMBRE. I know because I own it. It has many unique characteristics which I have documented.

They sure had Captain Keogh cast and written wrong. If you google Myles Keogh, he was tall, dark and extremely handsome. He had fought in Europe, and had an excellent record in the civil war, almost as good as Custer. Sadly he died at LBH, his horse Cherokee was the only survivor. I can't think of any present day actor handsome or manly enough to play him.

Keogh's horse was Comanche. He's been stuffed and preserved at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.

Here's a useless piece of information. At the time they issued a set of bubble gum cards with all the stills taken from this opening episode. Merchandising certainly come a long way since then.

@timothygeiger4373 жыл бұрын
You realize this is all fictional right? The REAL Custer was hardly a hero, he was a reckless egotistical hothead, his actions got many men killed.

MAjor Reno had a bad case of sour grapes. Custer was a concieted bastard, but most General officers are. Modest men do not get those stars. For all his sins, Custer made the rebs in gen and Stuart in particular run. Not many could claim that.

Custer was a swell headed son of a bitch, but you don't build the kind of record he had in the civil war with luck. My own thoughts are he was the victim, like Grant of sour grapes by more senior officeers who had spent the first two years of war getting the shit kicked out of them by an force they had outnumbered and out gunned.

stunned to silence. Loved the series, but Charles 64C, people said some awfully harsh things about some other guys who practiced genocide. I don't need to list them. The Brits feature on the list - but so do the American settlers. If something's wrong, it's - well, wrong. When it comes to a country that already belongs to someone else, the finders keepers/my guns bigger than your gun/what do you mean you don't have guns isn't a very honourable answer

It's difficult for anyone who lived thru the time this turkey saw air to forget how mind-bendingly *awful* it was. Four and a half minutes was all I needed to see to erase years of dedicated effort that went into forgetting this swill. But it does prove one thing. TV has no respect for history. Never has had, never will have when some pea brain thinks they can make a buck. Here is some genuine, factual history to make up for this junk: Most of the enlisted men under his command hated Custer. Their favorite "pet names" for "Yellow hair" were "Fanny" and "Hard Ass." Analysis of the bones picked up at the Little Big Horn mostly show that the common Troopers who died with and for Custer were broken down sad sacks with worn teeth, (Bad rations left over from the Civil War) dentures, back trouble (years of riding bad saddles and second rate horses) and that most of them were between 40-50 years old. Many of the common "horse soldiers" sacrificed to Custer's stupidity and ego did not speak English as a first language. Many of them were immigrants who took what looked like a high-paying, adventurous job. The truth is that Cavalry Horses had it better in many ways than the men who rode them. I say these things to tear down the fake image that film and television has left as "History" of the 7th Cavalry of the day being so neat, and clean and well kept, just like those stables that Custer was rolling around in. But one thing was accurate, even if none of it could be seen on TV. The show is all horse manure, that's for sure.

A biased view if I ever saw one. Custer was a true American hero who the liberal Democrats vilified to back up their propaganda.
