Great build. My 2 cent, programme the esc with 100% endpoint. Then dial it back to 50% or less to get a baseline to plane off. Then increase as needed, it will double your run time

Thanks! There are a few changes that I will post in a video when they are done . Will include as much data as possible. Run times, planning speed etc .

It's a beautiful creature. I think that this catamaran need of 12s and will be simply perfect. Stay fast. Sebastiano from Italy

I built that same boat with that pdf file out of all wood. I got it to 72mph then I hit a stick that I didn't see and that was it. I got all electronics back and were still good.not so much for the wooden hull. Nice build. Try 2 blade props for higher end speed. 3 blades are for acceleration not for all out speed.

Yes it is a great hull design , and an enjoyable build . Hopefully in the near future the chase boat we are restoring will be ready and we will start experimenting with this model more. Thanks for your input.

Sweet boat!!! You could heat sink the ESCs to the hull and I bet they would stay super cool!
@Nospig6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The ESCs we used have brass tubes running through the middle with no external heat sink to mount to the hull. But its possible that car type ESCs would have worked with the aluminium hull.

Absolutely killer boat it's unreal haha hopefully it gets sorted as it has so much potential i haven't really seen anything like it in the hobby nice job, does run better on 8s but super wet as in the bow digs into the water all i can suggest as it's a aluminium hull and i am only used to fibreglass but it should make a difference is to raise the drives more and increase the rudder angle back if you can and move what you can closer to the stern and higher lift props, can't wait too see the boat come along but considering it's the first i can't believe how well it went
@Nospig5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Have made a few minor changes including raising the drives and some weight distribution adjustments, should have a new video up soon .

Awesome build congrats looks great , boats running a bit wet but that's just a strut adjustment as I'm sure you know...

Wonderful build and workmanship. I think the teflon issue was due to a vibration. You can hear it vibrating badly wheb you went to the higher voltage.

Hopefully in the Not to far off future but we still need some more footage . Currently all spare time has been spent working on the rx scarab. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Honestly 4 4s packs in parallel isn’t very high for a boat this large. I would like to think you could run 10s to 12s on each side. I would try running two 6s 6000 with a high C rating in Series on EACH side and try raising the strut acouple MM and I bet you will be in the 100mph club! But that’s just a suggestion, you welds are looking very nice, it’s not as easy as everyone thinks to get a nice water proof tig weld after grinding them smooth!

Get 200 amp esc for each motor and 2 4s in series
@Nospig2 жыл бұрын
Hi, the ESC's are 240amp each. At the end of this video the boat was running 8s per side. The boat is more in it's element in one of my other videos " open water run" . Thanks for watching and commenting .

Only wondering...why make this? There are Mystic cat's available from a few manufacturers (Radtek, MHZ, Central RC), in fiberglass, carbon fiber, and carbon-Kevlar, between 40 and 96 inches in length, that will hit well over 100mph with the proper electronics (Scorpion, Lehner, Castle, NEU, Flier, Swordfish, MGM, Schulze). Why did you power a hull this size with Leopard and Turnigy electronics? What were the ESC and motor temp's after your test runs? Are those 0.187 flex shafts? Was this simply a proof of concept for some future project you have in mind, or were you able to build this boat for under $2,000 USD? Typically a build like this would be closer to $4,000-$5,000, on a budget, and the speeds you should expect would be no less than 80mph with a quality hull like HPR/MHZ/Radtek (CRC Mystic runs pretty wet, so not as fast as the others).

Thanks for showing how to build this hull. How thick is the aluminium?

How much does it weigh?? My first offshore cat was an Aeromarine 42(I thought) with 2 CMB.90 engines. Problem was, it was a poorly done copy of an Aeromarine Laminates hull layed-up 3 to 4 times too thick. Weighed about 25lbs and was a slug even with over 10 hp of power. I got my tail kicked by boats with a single smaller engine. Weight is everything in modeling. That would make a great model to make a mold with and lay it up light.
@Nospig2 жыл бұрын
It's about 16kg without batteries so not that light.

What an obnoxious bit of noise pollution to ruin the tranquility of whomever lives in that (formerly) pastoral setting.
