I can tell you what, I CANT PUT THIS RIFLE DOWN! I'm now clanging steel out to 1000 yrds and blasting varmints near and far. By far one of the most accurate guns I've ever owned and extremely fun to shoot. a few months now of shooting and I'm already plotting and planning what I should build next. I NEED AP to make a long action Solus so i can build a 7mm PRC!

Absolutely LOVE the Proof Barrel. Accurate as all get out with a pretty simple break in process (8 shots/2 cleanings). The fit and finish on every part is immaculate

Thanks William! Appreciate the view. So, I have the Proof Research ZERMAT Origin 26", 1-7.5" twist, 6mm Creed, Shouldered barrel. Dimensions are 1.200" at the breech and about 1" at the muzzle. You can buy them from a host of suppliers. Brownells, optics planet etc etc

Also, I will add, that barrel is super accurate and loves the heavier stuff more than the lighter (103 gr - 115 grs)

Sorry, it would have to be over groove diameter. Groove is "DIAMETER OF BULLET". I did say bore, my mistake as we generalize that term to mean "Caliber". So, here is a DIRECT QUOTE from them: "All brakes must be bored .020" over bullet diameter and installed by a gunsmith". .243" + .020" = .263". If you did it over bore, you would definitely find out, you did something wrong. But a qualified gunsmith would for sure know what to do. And just in case, for those reading this comment, I would NEVER think of doing it at home on a drill press or by hand. HOME DRILL PRESSES and DRILL MOTOR (in hand) are not concentric ways of precision by any means and you will get clipping or worse!

"DISCLAIMER: * All shouldered pre-fit barrels are guaranteed for headspacing". That right there is a quote from PROOF RESEARCH on their webpage. I did my research 1st but still bought a set of go/no go gauges anyways. Once I torqued down the barrel, I fed a "dummy round" (no powder/primer) into the chamber to confirm PROOFS guarantee. That dummy round was reloading info straight out of Barnes 6mm Creedmoor reloading manual. FLAWLESS fit! I then used a go/no go guage. Further proving the fit. In the end, All I originally had to do was torque the barrel and go shooting. This shows how good Proof and Aero Precision are and I have a $100 set of 6mm/.243 gauges i didn't need......lol! And the 2nd part of your question is YES. From what I read from Proof and AP, AP machines their Solus actions based off Proof Research barrels. I do believe on AP's webpage, they are going to start offering their barreled actions with proof research barrels
