I really like this setup. The wide door will fit a whole hog. Really seems like the best size for a back yard smoker over all. I've got a 250 but if I'm only cooking for myself it takes about a wheel barrow of wood to cook something.

Right on, I almost got the 250 but i just couldn't justify it even though . Even though I got my whole family always asking for ribs now, its still only 2 racks. For some reason thought I still want a 250, haha.

I've been told multiple things. Legally i think you are supposed to have them. I only try to make quick trips on the main roads to friends houses down the back roads. One time i took it to a contest 2 hours away, didn't get pulled over but i wouldn't have blamed them either if they had.

Yes. Go to a weigh station. Get the slip. Take to your tax collector office and register it. Should be relatively cheap.

I’m curious if you looked into getting a reverse flow from Shirley Fabrication. They do a lot of this style cooker. Edit: your closing comments cracked me up. You do have to admit that for a channel called Comparison Cooking that cautioning everyone to not compare their cookers is funny.

Yes, I had come across Shirley, they look like great pits! Hahaha yes yes, good point. Don’t compare your smoker and rob yourself of joy (after you’ve spent thousands) but compare the food all day long 👍
