I'm so pleased to have found you! Great explanations of tricky points like joining the zipper strip to the boxing strip and making corners easy. As a home dressmaker, I have picked up so many tips to make my 6 new dining chairs new professional cushions. Thank you so much. Greeting and thanks from the English south coast.

Hi Nancy, am about to embark on making some larger cushions with shams. Do you thin’ it’s possible to install an invisible zipper at the lower edge of the sham (at the sham border allowance). And if so would you consider doing a tutorial on this at some stage please. If not, can you advise where you think the zipper would be best placed please. Many thanks

Thank you for your extremely clear videos. My daughter has asked if I could make a wedge pillow - so she can sit up and read in bed. Thanks to you, I can make the wedge shape in foam with a polyester batting covering. Have you any tips on making the cover for that? Also, have you any plans to make a video on making slip covers for a Parsons chair? Many thanks and best wishes from viewer in the United Kingdom.

Hello Nancy. Serendipity that I found you! Thanks so much for posting these great videos! I have a question not sure if you'll see this but....... I am making 4 box cushions for some old fashioned wooden chairs with Rush seats. I won't be able to fit the zipper on the back of the chair because there are two chair poles or whatever you call them that I have to cut the foam to fit around and the area between the poles is not 25% of the pillows circumnference. I don't want to put the zipper in front so maybe I'll try putting it on the aide. I'm going to see how actually squishy my 2 inch thick dacron wrapped cushions are before I decide what to do.

I would if I could! I often make a video when I have a job a customer brings me that’s something I haven’t shown before. This was one of those videos, so she provided the fabric for this one. No idea what it was. Thanks for watching!

I was so happy to find your videos. My daughter has asked me to make cushions for her outdoor furniture. After watching your videos, I did fine sewing the boxed cushions with welting and zippers . However, I have run into trouble with sewing the arch shaped welted cushions that she would like to be knife edged rather than boxed edge. When I insert my form into the finished cover, the arched curve part of the cushion & the welting always end up wavey. That part of the edge does not lay smoothly. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I did not have this problem with the box edge cushions and it is really frustrating me. Thank you for these very informative videos and any suggestions.

I'm so glad my videos have helped you make boxed cushions! Regarding your problem, how thick is the foam or filler you are using on the knife edge cushion? I have found that cushions made with a knife edge are only successful if you use only 1" foam, or if you make a Turkish corner to take up the extra fabric. Does this help?
@caroleanderson6311
@caroleanderson6311 Жыл бұрын
@@ASquarePillowIsntSquare Thank you. That is probably the issue. I am using a 2" form and then a 1/2" Dacron wrap on top and bottom. Perhaps I am trying to do what can't be done successfully. I will see about using a Turkish corner. Thank you for the help.
@ASquarePillowIsntSquare

@@caroleanderson6311 That's definitely the problem. I've even found that if I use 1" foam and then top stitch around the outer edge to create a knife edge shaped filler that's about the only way I can get a really good look on a knife edged cushion. If it's 2+" and has a sharp curve boxing is really your best bet. Good luck!

Thank you very much, great tutorial. Unfortunately, video experience is marred by KZfaq's decision to have gross advertising at the beginning and middle of the middle. Not your fault, of course.
