I used to do Anime characters on Hats, shoes and phones... they do work, it just takes learning the materials, they're substantially different to Markers and should be treated as such That is if you use Paints and brush. Using Posca makes life easier but changes the appearance of the art also vs Paint brushes..

the colors might come out a bit more contrasty ... Try starting with white paint as your primary layer....start with white, let it dry and then use the actual colors on top of the white... I'm not sure but it might work You're art is amazing BTW :D :D :D :D
