How neat that one of my favorite youtubers got into mechanical keyboards around the same time as me. Btw, an affordable and excellent one to start with is the Royal Kludge RK84. I started with a GK61 and it was so loud and pingy regardless of the switch you choose, not to mention your switch selection is limited to Gateron opticals. The RK84 is 3 and 5 pin, bluetooth, and has far better acoustics.

@@MatthewEncina One thing I'd really love to see more is, I suppose, more coverage and review of higher-end products with some insights into technical conundrums about them (Looking at Keybored and nearlucid style). When many GBs open up like the Hope75 for example, one vital thing is the very thin PCB that makes it potentially volatile, and hard to install stabs... Those are really key determiners for buyers to not fall into. But then again, prototypes are often sent to the more keeb oriented channel, so unless you can strike a collaboration/sponsorship/liaison, I suppose not much can be done. Other than that, experiments with hi-end stuff are always fresh, as the market is either very lacking in them, or they are really long streams (alexotos have very comprehensive stream VODs, and that's sth I particularly enjoyed). Bottom line though? Just do what you do best: meticulous detail, amazing cinematography, and infinite passion.

You should also also looking at keyboards with less focus on aesthetics and more focus on usability, it's a whole different side of the custom keyboard space more focused on improving the functionality and usability of the keyboard and not so caught up on aesthetics and sound. The standard keyboard layout was created no the IBM days 40 years or more ago and that layout already brought things from the typewriter days. It's almost like the keyboard is stuck int time. I use a 30 key and a 47 key ortholinear keyboards with heavily customized keymaps to better suit my native language (Portuguese) and my workflow as a UI/UX designer, while having as little hand movement as possible as to not aggravate all the injuries I collect while cycling. Making the keys come to you instead of reaching for them and using all the powerful qmk features to make a fully functional keyboard with as little keys as possible.

There is a device called the Louperdeck where you can set specific commands to their buttons. It also has several dials and a touch screen where you can do the same things. It works with lots of applications on Windows and Mac, so I think you’ll like it. 👍🏿

You’re really deep in the keyboard hobby lol. One thing is that I really really think you should consider just using a straight cable with USB-C instead of using the coiled one as a straight cable. I think it would make the setup on your desk much more clean.
