Found your channel again after 2-3 weeks and I can see a lot of progress has been made. I really like how simple everything looks. No drop shadows, no round corners or fancy graphics. 👍

yes it is and i'll obviosuly make something like flappy bird in it one day! Currently this project has been on hold for my other projects but im plannign to remake it one day for better code scalability!

this is definitely cooler than anything i've made (mostly because I am lazy and get bored of projects) but i always have to question the priorities for any of these hobbyist or new operating systems, same thing happened with redoxOS. why is everyone's first priority getting a gui before getting a useful kernel? even just a simple fat or ext2 filesystem that writes to disk would be great. keep up the good work.

I only implemented a GUI First since i'm still new to this os development and tackling something as a filesystem is quite hard and difficult for me since im still learning

I did the same years back (rolling my own os). It's because they are doing this for fun, and seeing pixels on the screen is fun.

The program is basically a virtual machine, i havent tested it on real hardware yet but ill do so later

@@koki10190 I can tell you, I'm not as advanced as youa re but the number of time something worked on a vm but not on my actual hardware is way too big

@@absobel yeah i tested it and for some reason it does like load the kernel ELF file gets the entry point but doesnt actually run it dk what its causing it and debugging it is really hard

@@koki10190 CLASSIC 😭 Probably a random page fault or general protection fault or whatever, good luck 😭 I used QEMU with kvm and the flag -cpu host, I found that it helped to emulate my hardware, If you're not already doing that

So is this running in 16-bit BIOS mode, 32-bit, or 64-bit mode? Did you write your own boot loader or are you loading via GRUB or the like?

Its a 64bit operating system using UEFI, bootloader is a custom one written using GNU-EFI stuff, it loads an ELF Kernel you can check the source code ;)

@@cvabds Very cringe, there's nothing wrong with having your own projects. "How fun programming could be" They are literally writing their own operating system, I think if they didn't enjoy it they would not have gotten nearly as far as they have.

This is Really Cool, If you're looking for someone to help with UI i can give you my work email. I have 10+ years of 3D & 2D Design experience including publishing a VR game for Which i also did the UI and Art assets for. Not looking to charge you jus moreso looking for people and places to help and collaborate. I cant guarantee a big workload but even if its jus some graphical assets or what not its more experience and work examples for me and free art & Graphical assets for You. And if its Fun or what not im not against doing more work jus trying to make sure im not over promising anything 🙏 Either way i wish you nothing but the Best and Think this is a Very Impressive and Promising Start. No matter what I have no doubt you're going to go far, Im Fluent in C# and this makes me Feel Dumb! ✨
