How much does it weigh unladen with all this extra stuff and what is the gvm? Looks a bit heavy for a Jimmy without a gvm upgrade.

@@andrews7046 nah mate still well under gvm as seen in this video. With 2 adults in the car we were still about 80kg short of gvm when we weighed it. Keep in mind too we threw everything we have on for this feature. If you see the car as it is now it’s a very different story.

@@TheLittleRig That is one well presented Jimny, very interested to see the new transfer gear swap, l have seen a couple of options but they both lower high range as well but l want to keep the stock high as is because l'm using standard size tires.

@@clooperman3745 hey mate! Yeah it’s all installed now, I’ve had it about 5 weeks or so (can see it on my Instagram). As you say it does affect high range aswell which is perfect for me now I have 31” tires on, but completely understand when running stockies. I believe Sumo Gears may be releasing something some time soon.

What a great little truck I’ve a bromanic with these little Suzukis since I brought a new 1985 soft top Holden Drover (rebadged Suzuki Sierra). The thing never let me down and did some really hard off roading.

Greetings from Florence Italy I am also the owner of a Suzuki Jimny 4x4 in 2001 with a m13a 1.3 lt petrol engine. All original and drives in the presence of country tracks and mud. Also the tracks and mounts and roads in the countryside are completely covered in snow!For me the Suzuki Jimny is a good his 4x4 SUV!

Brilliant job. I’m nearly done with blowing a large sum of money on my Jimny. Have everything on it except lockers. I won’t put lockers on because I have spent sooo much🙈. Oh yes I probably need nicer tyres. Would really like to send a photo to you. Dunno what is best way. From South Africa. Member of Suzuki club SA.

Suzuki, bring the Jimny line to the U.S. already. I'm tired of finding Suzuki Samurai's with 100,000+ miles, going for $10,000 (a car that stopped production in the U.S. in 1995 and is now 25+ years old).

Saw the ARB lockers front and back switch fitted in your rig. I got mine just rear alone. Planning to fix the front too. Where did you fix the compressor switch as the wires come together to the locker switch.

We love our JIMNY but we did notice a significant fuel impact on the little beast once we put bigger wheels and a bullbar/winch on it. Just have to keep in mind it's still cheaper than any of the big boys, but we ended up selling our new little pocket rocket for a second hand proper 4wd pretty quick. At the end of the day, it CAN be an amazing little rig, but like anything, just have to decide what sacrifices you are willing to make for any option.

G'day mate. Are you anywhere near Mandurah WA? I have just finished telling someone else that I would love to put my Landrover Freelander 4 cylinder up against a Suzuki Jimny. They are both around the same size and I think it would be a great challenge. I was thinking of White hills and Tims's thicket as they are both a challenge for any 4x4.

Suzuki formed an alliance with the G.M.'s Australian arm and produced the cars there, in complete knock-down kits at Holden factories. The car was branded as Holden Drover, but it was a badge-engineering product. There were just a few differences between a Suzuki SJ51 and a Holden Drover. The front fascia featured rectangular headlights instead of the round ones found on the original model. The rest of the squared-looking bodywork remained the same. The body-on-frame construction allowed the manufacturer to use both versions: a soft-top convertible or a hard-top, 2-door vehicle. Inside, apart from the Holden badge on the steering wheel, everything else was carried over from the light Suzuki Samurai.

Nah not even close. Still well under gvm. As mentioned in the other comments we threw everything we own onto the vehicle for this feature, but if you see the vehicle now it’s a very different story.
