Damn, Dirt Boss, you are about the most determined fella I have ever seen. I was so proud to see a man go the extra mile for his customer. The money you saved these people is huge. I hope they know how lucky they are to have a repair man like you in the community, you are a gem.

Padding pipe also makes it easier for us operators. If a pipe has sand or gravel around it you can feel it when you break through the dirt into the trench. I’ve put miles of RCP and joint trench in the ground, working first as a ground man and laborer, then as an operator. Something very satisfying about laying pipe, no pun intended! 😂😂 I’m retired now and get my kicks watching KZfaq videos, but I do so miss working! Be safe out there buddy! 👏👏🙏💪💪🤘

"Septic Exploratory", words nobody really want's to hear. Great repair, and thanks for showing it. Just proves the point about having your head working when onsite and not skipping any steps. You saved that customer thousands of dollars by performing your due diligence. PS, you've certainly had a positive influence on me, I always make sure I have a couple trowels in the service truck after listening to you explain why.

You do good work sir. Like you said, less experienced guys would recommend a new system because they don't understand exactly how a septic works and how much fall is necessary.

Nice fix. The main problem was the glue joint. The purple primer softens the plastic and makes it sticky. But without glue it won't hold for long. Even if the pipe was bedded properly the water would allow things to settle once the pipe pulled apart. I've accidentally forgot the glue on some sprinkler lines and had failures like that. But with pressurized pipe the failures become obvious a lot sooner. Chances are the joint you fixed won't fail in your lifetime.

Just a thought! the plummer may have had it right when it was installed but heavy equipment ran over it and sagged it into the ground. I'm not saying it was or not glued as evidence points not by accident which then separated as in conclusion when heavy equipment ran over it. Plain logical thus why a small fence was placed down to stop traffic running on it.

Nothing worse than someone who does a job that's critical to the customers safety and screwing it up. That pipe could have caused sewer gas to back up to the point it actually made it past the U traps. Really nice to see someone does the job as it should have been an didn't scam the homeowner into getting more done than they needed. This episode and the Andrew Caramata road video convinced me to sub this channel.
