I bought a 05 4runner back in 2019 and just recently replaced all my suspension for the first time since owning it and when doing the rear shocks I noticed that on the top bushing it had NO spacer cap and they tightened the nut right to the bushing 😂

The wire you grabbed in the cowl area is for the heated defrost for wipers. Most likely had the windshield replaced with one that didn't have heated defrost wipers and cut the wires like a hack
