I had a white Tahoe of that generation. Same wheels. That thing was a tank and relatively problem-free.

I'd be checking fluid pressure with a pressure gauge and then be checking if the transfer case wasn't in neutral because you did confirm the buttons did work

Props to the person willing to swap a 4wd trans on the ground (without a lift). I will not be doing that anymore. Bummer it did not work out.

You have to replace the radiator or install an external cooler, I learned the hard way myself. Flushing may work but any warranty I’ve read says you must replace the cooler.

In 2018 on my F 250 4 x4 had General transmission in Kent WA.rebuild my transmission. Cost $5,000 bucks. They did a perfect job.

I like trying things if I have spare parts, but transmission rebuilds seem like such delicate work, even engine rebuilds. I know great guys that do engine rebuilds. Even when going by the book and sending in for resurfacing, they still have issues, it’s a lot of heat to take.

If I lived near you...I wouldn't go to another mechanic...idc if I had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment. There are too many shady ppl out here. Love watching your videos, Matt ❤ you're the best... don't let hateful comments tear you down...they are just jealous lol

That transmission mechanic is full of crap! If you needed the spec from the old transmission first, than you should have put off on the job till it came in! So what specs did he use? The bottom line is you were trusted to do the job, don’t make excuses not to warranted your work!

Would the transfer case that’s disconnected possibly be in neutral???? The luck I have it wouldn’t be in gear and they disconnected the motor and would act like the trans is dead.

Was the TC attached to the flex plate were the TC and input shaft correct for that vehicle? Thats my first guess. No all 4l60es have the same input shaft and TC size. It'll need to be dropped and replaced if it isn't.

I feel her pain but at least I can drive my vehicle. I've learned you get what you paid for. This local backyard guy rebuilt my transmission in my 04 Expedition and it's been trouble ever since. 2nd gear is violent, the OD light blinks but surprisingly it does go into OD and I have to add a quart of transmission fluid every couple of months. Well, I've been driving it like that for 3 years so I guess I'll drive it until it goes out again.

Next time put your phone on record and put it under the car and then go through the gears, You got a family and kids at home some lady's transmission is not worth it, And this comes from the heart Your a good person a great mechanic (One of the best ) and most likely the best dad and husband , And that means your exactly the type of guy That would have something so tragic Happen to you, I seen it a million and one times ,, There could be a person down the street that beats people up everyday or abuses there wife/husband They live forever but you get A good guy up the street that does everything for his community family and friends and ends up 6Ft under Long before there time!

Becareful with the torque converter bolts sometimes they can be really tite and strip out, they carry new bolt at the oriellys

That a 4L60 and the pump is made out of aluminum. If they didn't stage the torque converter all the way or if it slipped out a little it will break the pump!

Here's the deal with the transmission the automatics the torque converter in first then put the transmission in without doing that it will not go into any gear maybe he just put it all together and maybe that's just problem?

I bet you couldn't figure out my transmission. Toyota with an A43D. Reverse works fine but only drives forward for a few minutes until it stops contacting gears. Then it acts like it's in neutral once it warmed up. Confusing asf.

4l60 made in a glass factory no matter what you do there problematic some people with gmt400s go though 3/4 trans in the life of the truck 5.3s and 4.6 only problem from factory are those trans

Sorry this doesn't make sense you should have at least dropped the pan just to inspect. You'll be surprised how the filter sometimes isn't connected. Did the shifter click on the transmission. It look too smooth from the video. Otherwise it looks like it's been bolted together right I feel like it's the transmission builders fault.
