I don’t think I’ve ever heard the phrases “my emo phase” and “ I like to do folk art” so close together before. Kinda like the juxtaposition of my early college ska phase and loving early 20th century illustration ten years later.

The good thing happening: It’s totally unrelated to everything going on, but I finally can see a therapist for personal issues, which gives that tad bit of hope for a better future (me).

For the question of the day: First of all I literally just picked tomatoes out of our garden like a couple hours ago so that’s kind of funny... But I would say, I’m so thankful and happy that I’m growing in my spiritual relationship with Yahuah. And I’m being refined to be the best that I can be. Even through the tough stuff, there’s ALWAYS a brighter side. The hard times are made to refine and purify you to be stronger and better of a person. So I am thankful for the tough times just as much as I am the easier times. Life is too short to focus on negativity all the time! Sending love to you all! Thank you Mira for reminding us every day to see the bright side of things.❤️

I usually only have bad news, especially since 2015. That said, there is one big thing I can say that is a positive. I have an amazing son who is smart and kind, and weird in the best way, and I have an amazing partner who is all those things too. I have spent way too much of my life with abusive boyfriends (mostly mentally and emotionally) so just being treated respectfully and being loved as much as I am, by both of the mens in my immediate family, the family I built, is a really big deal for me. They are the light in my life and the reason I push through each and every day. ♡

I've not been feeling well the past few days so even if the person feel awkward saying it, being told I'm loved makes a big difference, so thank you so much. I love you too in a not weird way lol. I tell people I love them all the time. It's a feeling that you feel, there is nothing wrong with it, and although I absolutely understand feeling like you need to add the disclaimers (I am the queen of disclaimers) you don't need to with me. I totally get it ^-^. I hope you get all the good karma you absolutely deserve for being such a sweet and caring person, and I hope that you have a good rest of your day, and only good days going forward ♡♡♡♡♡!!

I’m 26 and still going through my “emo phase” and still listen to AFI and I was OBSESSED with them when I was younger to the point where my walls were covered in their posters and pictures 💜 also side note Jade is the bassist 😊

YES!! AFI was in my emo days too haha... but the great thing about life right now is trying new things. Learning how to kite surf this summer, reviving my watercolor skills, and trying out a new self-employeed career path!!!

Something positive! I recently started an art Tik Tok and I haven't been this inspired to create in a long, long time. I had been dealing with a lot of depression and anxiety, so having this outlet has been amazing

One good thing that made me smile this week: A little girl was saving up pop cans so she could take them in and get money to spend on her birthday, but the 4 bags of recycling were stolen 3 days before her birthday. Her mom posted on the local fb page and asked if anyone had seen someone take the bags. Sadly no one had seen the bag thief, but a lot of people had cans to return and started to drop them off at the little girl's house. As of this morning she has over 20 bags and is super excited to see how much she gets and what she can buy with it. I live in a very small village which can be a pain when it comes to getting things like art supplies, but at least I know if something serious ever happens I'll be taken care of.

After losing my job in March due to the UK having a lockdown, I've got a new job that I start on Wednesday. Its a long commute and it's not in my field but I have been feeling so down and desperate due to how long I'd been unemployed, that I'm over the moon to have finally found something. 🙂

I love seeing all of your positive and wonderful art. I used to do art constantly as a kid, and immensely enjoyed it. But then events happened that pulled me away from art and now, at 23, I am thinking about getting back into it because of inspirations like you and many others in the art community. I thank you so so much for it! (And to answer your QOTD, a good thing is that I got married! It was not the weeding I wanted initially, but it was lovely to have close family there.)

Something good that's happened to me lately is i found your channel and your videos are very inspiring and uplifting. I have been able to re kindle my interest in multi media art work and I am trying out a lot of new art materials that I have had for years and never used. So thanks for that Mira. Also my favorite animals are dogs and chickens. Chickens are really funny and curious creatures.

My son and daughter-in-law, fostered a little girl for 2 years and last week she OFFICIALLY became my GRANDDAUGHTER!! She has 2 older brothers that were adopted 3 years ago. Needless to say I am tinkled pink!!💞❤️💜

My favorite animal is a fox. I just love the colors. For my positive thing, we're doing homeschool for the first time and we just got our curriculum. My son (5 yrs) is so excited to start. He loves the books. We're doing Sonlight, so there's a ton of them. 😁

You absolutely do not have enough subscribers. You are KZfaq’s ray of sunshine! ☀️ I’d say something good happening in my life recently is I’m actually seeing some progress in my art. In the past, I would never even finish a drawing to the point where I could add any color, or I wouldn’t have any ideas of what to draw so I just wouldn’t. Now, I’m bursting with so many ideas I have to write them down so I don’t forget any! 😂

Yes I’m someone that customizes my sketchbooks I’m so glad you said it’s okay to also paint your cat painting - i mean I’d like to use it as inspiration and don’t want you to think i steal your work, so I’m glad you say it’s ok ☺️ I’ve a big question and I don’t know if it’s top secret or not but, Where do you go, who do you use to make your custom washi tape? I’ve always been intimidated to use a sketch book, I always do loose leaf paper drawings because it’s less scary lol. But you inspired me to order one, so Friday when it gets here, I’ll be doodling away. So thanks for the inspiration, that kitty turned out so darn cute! Can’t wait for the final flip through 💖

Ohhhh I loved AFI as a teen! Answer to question of the day: A good thing that is happening in my life right now... I am feeling better after a long time of feeling "off" and I can finally pluck up the courage to clean and tidy my house! I have struggled for a while to keep on top of it but my energy is coming back and it is lifting my mood heavily over all! I love your folk art pieces! They always put a smile on my face!

The best thing that happened to me this year was that I published my first book (The Color of Light: Dragon’s Eye) and started selling a few art commissions. It took a long to figure out what my career is supposed to be and I’ve had a LOT of false starts, so it’s really nice to finally feel like I’m becoming who I’m supposed to be. Oh, and my favorite animal: Can’t pick one, so owls, penguins and moose of all kinds.

My favorite animals are sea turtles and flamingos. A great thing that happened this year is getting our puppy last February. Love her SO much.
