I can totally see where this POV comes from, I just feel like students in their formative years (who are trying to better themselves) have a habit of wanting to help the people around them with life advice. I think career is just a SMALL part of knowing what you want, but there’s also navigating age difference friendships, work relationships, finding the place you want to settle down in, maintain healthy romantic relationships, etc etc. I just don’t think many of them could think of the vocabulary on their feet to let him know, you have this drive and motivation, but don’t leave the other stuff behind, fill your cup in all aspects kinda thing also to add to this, they did come off rather harsh, but I think part of it may be a bit of projection. unfortunately when interacting with ppl the biggest comparison to their traits and habits would be ours. sometimes when we can see an area other people lack in, that we’ve put a lot of work into ourselves, it’s hard not to be like “i did the work, so why can’t you” without knowing more context, and that’s why first impressions are very very important, and difficult to navigate.

Regardless of the cancer I would’ve picked Komi from the 3 left. He’s gone longer without going to his country/gets to see family whereas miles hasn’t been able to see his sister in a bit/probably will at some point (holidays, graduations etc) and Isaiah is going to hang with a friend. Would be fun for him but also I don’t really care about the “pants” lol I feel like he was trying to milk it

i don't think isaiah was stretching it at all -- he just should've worded it better. perhaps having sibling birthdays all in the same month probably means he never got to truly do something special. and the "pants" thing was more of an inside joke with his friend so he could "fulfill the inside joke's promise" by returning his pants which would make the spring break travel with his friend even more special. also 1k usd does wonders in denmark, it's like someone's bi-annual salary there so imagine the amount of things they could've seen together. it would've for sure been such an awesome thing to start his 20s with and to expand the mind's scope more so i understand his choice :) but regardless, i'm sure studying film will get him to work in different locations so isaiah if you see this -- you're still going places and have opened a world of exciting travel with your major anyway!

yeah but that also eliminates bias, and if there’s a power dynamic or ‘alpha’ in the group they may more be inclined to agree just bc everyone else does. this gives everyone a fair chance without one picking what they might be best in or win at and exclusiveness.

we should do one of those where you don’t hear people’s sob stories. if you think about it, someone with cancer can have a make a wish, they can have donations bc of their cancer. they have people to help them. ofc not all people with cancer have that, but if they’re on this show, they most likely have support from some source. just my opinion,but every couch video like these, the person with the saddest story wins.
