Met this charming creature while walking near the ocean. Some people call them gophers, but they are not. This is California Ground Squirrel. Of course they are still digging holes and ruining gardens and lawns. But there are some ultrasonic repellent devices that efficiently help. Some of these squirrels look skinny, but this one is super plump. The best looking squirrels I saw in the San Diego Zoo. They look like the zoo staff is combing their tails every day.
