Cute Kittens Run Their Purr Motors

The 1st kitten to purr into the camera is our Thunder and the 2nd kitten that comes in for a purry close up is his brother Darius. The other 2 kittens on my lap are Teddy & Persephone (Teddy is now called Mischa). Monkey & Faron (who is now called Emi) can be heard playing in the kitten enclosure.
This was the 1st littler of VOKRA kittens that we fostered back in 2012, the kittens that became famous from their A Den Of Kittens video and the litter that we adopted Thunder & Monkey from. Darius was adopted with Persephone and Emi & Mischa were adopted together.

studies actually say that their purring vibrates at a frequency which actually helps with healing which is why they also purr when anxious or hurt as well.

A couple of weeks ago, I was having a bad time. Could relax, couldn't sleep. One of my girls came right up to me, headbutted me, plopped down and starting purring. I was out asleep within 15 minutes. Kitty purrs really do heal all wounds.

Fun-fact: a cat purrs at 60Hrz. This is the same frequency of a Diesel engine idling, hence the expression “Listen to that engine purr.”

I always told myself i slept better when my cat would curl up next to me at night. Listening to his purring was relaxing even w/ needing a CPAP machine for my sleep issues to keep me breathing in the night. Greatly miss both cats though i never had more than one at a time, last one sadly passed away in November last year.

That is one thing I like about the way the cat purrs. One thing's for sure at least he's got a motor and at least he knows how to turn it on and turn it off. It's sort of like a light switch you tell the cat to turn on his per motor and he does just that turn on the motor and then watch him purr all day.

Punkin had a loud purr motor......punky roos...roosty poosty.....punky the baby monkey... Had that name cos he liked to be mischievous sometimes... But he was a total lil darlin.... Loved to watch birds and chatter at them....loved catnip...he was a beautiful black cat......don't mind me if I run on a bit...Lil monkey doodle... Baby Roos.

I remember this particular litter as everyone's maiden voyage and for me so special. ( certainly for you and Sharon... and Panthy) anyhow, Thunder's purr is so richly coated in layers it's beautifully soothing and warm!! The whole litter presenting as a Den Of Kittens was such a meltdown. What a priceless memory of sights, sounds and feel good this is!!

A little less than a decade ago, I was fostering a kitten who still hadn't been weaned. It was the most relaxing thing ever to bottle feed him. He'd purr and drink and knead, and the two of us would fall asleep together right after. It was very tiresome to get up ever few hours to feed him, but the tranquility of feeding him...probably is similar to what mothers feel breastfeeding.
