the thing is, china sucks at modern life-setting dramas. it's the same old formula: girl has no self-respect and is treated like a doormat, male aggression and stalking is romanticised (worse is girl stalking guy is "cute" and is the premise for a majority of these stories), misunderstandings are the bases of the whole plot, trust and communication is non-existent. they keep beating the dead horse over and over again, it's an insult to my intelligence
